Bears head coach Matt Nagy is obligated to speak to the media three times per week, which is down one day from last season. This year, that’s meant Nagy speaks on Monday, Thursday and Friday during a typical game week.

But Nagy, who wasn’t scheduled to speak with the media Wednesday, is now scheduled to hold a press conference, which means there’s some sort of announcement coming.

There’s been a lot of news on the offensive front this week, including Nagy saying Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles were all under consideration to start against the Lions. That, and Nagy didn’t rule out handing over play calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.

Naturally, many Bears fans are left speculating about what Nagy is gearing up to announce — Lazor as the new play caller, Foles as starting quarterback or his own resignation. While that last one isn’t happening, the other two are certainly on the table.

Hopefully he announces he is giving up all play call duties moving forward... permanently

He really needs to do a better job at getting the offense ready to play and focused on the smaller details.

Let Lazor and Flip work on the game planning and play calling

I feel Nagy would be a much better coach if delegated these things and just focused on being a leader and getting guys prepared properly

Nagy's tenure at Chicago could be summed up as "Less is more."

Bingo but how does someone break him of his addiction to calling plays.  It's like he gets an erection just thinking about it.

IMHO about the only way that happens is during a Come to Jeezus meeting with Pace he's given a choice to either turn over weekly game planning and game day play calling to his OC and offensive staff or Pace won't be able to protect him from being fired.  Orders from the top.

Contractually Nagy has the right to coach as he and he alone chooses but if he insists on that Pace and GMcC can insist on either his resignation or they can simply fire him.  So also IMHO that clause in his contract no longer has any teeth.

Not a single Bears fan would shed a tear if he was fired and if he can't sense that by now he truly is living in his own imaginary world.
