I don't disagree, but they're also paying their HC peanuts (relatively speaking). Even with Aranda's new deal, ridiculous as it may be, his contract and Ed's combined are ~$20 mill less than Jimbo's.

CFB spending has officially jumped the shark though. This much is true.

It'd be one thing if it was a state that was in control of its finances, but Louisiana is a financial dumpster fire. They're trying to figure out a way to make sure their universities and hospitals don't close. (Granted, this has more to do with the fact that they'd rather starve than raise business or income taxes.)

The optics on this are terrible.

LSU's athletic revenue and/or budget isn't funded by tax dollars, and it's not the LSU athletic departments responsibility to fund other entities just because the state is run like a Come 'n' go. Unless they're double dipping into state funds, then the "optics", at least in this regard, are pretty mehhh.

The optics of ever increasing salaries of coaches, to the point where coordinators are making HC money, while the players continue to get **** in return, are far worse imo.

Considering Arizona just fired their HC for pulling his wanger out in the office, Hugh Freeze would be a pretty weird hire.

Winning > being a prude

Nice hire by TAMU. Elko is a really talented DC.

I thought there was some crossover between the LSU AD and the rest of the university at large. Might be wrong though.

Aranda gets $2.5M. That's absurd. I get that the money has to go somewhere since they aren't paying players, but the state of Louisiana has relentlessly cut the budget of LSU, including essential stuff like the LSU medical center.

I get where you're coming from but Aranda is basically HC in waiting here and O + Aranda combined is still less than a lot of the more expensive head coaches. It makes a little more sense in Aranda's case rather than just some random coordinator at a school with a high salary head coach at the same time.

That and what @Texasmade said makes this better than just a quick first glance would tell you.

Oregon CB coach, Charles Clark, heading head to his alma mater Ole Miss to be their DB coach. He's a good coach but an average recruiter.

We finally made Donte Williams official but he's coaching OLBs here. That recruiting...

If we get Demetrice Martin as our CB coach...bruh
