What’s the best package we could get for Rodgers?

Yeah, you don't do that if you are a classy organization. What are they players going to think if you don't help to accomodate him AND you go after his SB. That's what a ****ty franchise would do. This is the sort of thing where there is going to be an agreement between both sides where neither lose too much.

Green Bay has already accommodated him by adjusting his contract and saying they will work a trade if Rodgers requests that.  They didn’t have to do that.  And frankly, after the BS Rodgers pulled last spring/summer, it’s a pretty big thing for them to even make that concession.  If Green Bay trades him on the cheap, there is a CLEAR loser- the Green Bay Packers.

I suspect the packers will ask Rodgers for a list of teams he would consider, and then try to accommodate from there.  If Rodgers tries to force their hand and limit compensation going the other way, Green Bay won’t just take that slap to the face sitting down.

Some Denver news.....

ESPN (October 2021) - The Denver Broncos will have some big-play speed back in their offense for the game Sunday against Washington.

The Broncos activated wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, two of the fastest players on the depth chart, from injured reserve Saturday. Jeudy suffered an ankle injury in the season opener and has not played since; Okwuegbunam has missed the past three games with a hamstring injury.

Jeudy has practiced for the past two weeks, but was held out of Friday's practice for what coach Vic Fangio said were "conservative" measures after experiencing soreness in his ankle.

After a 3-0 start, the Broncos' offense has been increasingly sluggish amid a four-game losing streak. The team has not held the lead in any of the past three losses and had the lead for just 3 minutes, 57 seconds in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens to open the month.

The Broncos are 24th in the league in scoring at 20.0 points per game.

Jeudy had six receptions for 72 yards in just 31 snaps in the opener before his injury.

Okwuegbunam, who ran faster than many of the wide receivers at 2020 scouting combine (4.49 in the 40-yard dash), had played 45% of the offense's snaps in the first four games.

Fangio said in recent weeks defenses were "selling out'' to stop the Broncos' running game -- attacking the line of scrimmage because they don't fear getting beat downfield.

"I still see that,'' Fangio said this week. "That's part of the things that we met upon in these last few days, trying to figure out a way to get it going. Part of getting it going, too, is to throw it a little better on the early downs. We have to have a good mix, and hopefully get some better looks to run against."

The Broncos on Saturday also activated linebacker Jonas Griffith from injured reserve and moved up linebacker Barrington Wade from the practice squad for Sunday's game.

I think he's already tested these waters with his "Dont tag Davante....I know he doesnt want that" conversation.

I mean, it's hard to come up with a better context in which to escort a legend out the door.

To wit:
- A lot of the fanbase blame him for the playoff loss
- A lot of the fanbase have turned on him personally
- There's a salary cap crunch and he's got the biggest number
- There's another guy waiting in the wings.
- If a team believes they're "A QB away" they're not going to find that guy in the draft this year (this is a straight bad QB draft).

I would be genuinely surprised if he's back.

I'm tellin ya....it doesnt feel like he's *planning* on coming back. I think his decisions made already....and I also think he want Davante to be free and clear to follow him.

Last thing to add to the list- Rodgers seemingly repaired his relationship with the front office, and wouldn’t be leaving on contentious terms (unless the trade gets flubbed).  He wouldn’t become the pariah that Favre did when he went to MIN.

I don’t know, I’ve been married for awhile now but I still remember what it felt like to be in a relationship with somebody and just have that feeling that it was time to move on, despite still caring deeply for that other person. I didn’t feel that way about the packers and Rodgers until I was walking out of Lambeau on Saturday night, but the feeling hasn’t gone away, in fact, I feel like it’s getting stronger the further out we get from the game.  My guess is Rodgers feels something similar right now.  The time might just be right to allow both parties to move on.

Agreed.  I think his comments re: Adams and the tag were him trying to do his friend a solid.

If Rodgers was leaving why would he need to talk with Gute, Murphy, Ball, and MLF in the coming weeks??  Who BTW, all want him back.

Couldn't his agent just give them a list of teams???

The Packers have the power over Adams with the franchise tag.  Why would Rodgers bring that up if Rodgers is leaving regardless?

If the Packers tag Adams, Rodgers has zero control over what the Packers do with Adams.  There no guarantee he's being traded where Rodgers goes.

For a guy who is leaving for sure, he certainly has a lot of interest in what the Packers are doing moving forward.

You're not gonna split town without telling the folks you've been working with for 17 years whats up and why. Simply not gonna relay that info via your Agent. That's the equivalent of breaking up via text.

GB only has the tag power over Adams if they can build up enough $$$ to cover the tag cost - hence, roster maneuvering is necessary.

I think - pure opinion - that Rodgers knows he's heading to Denver and he'd prefer Adams be a complete FA - have the team of his choice - because he believes at least, that he'd come to Denver.

Flip siding the above......IF Rodgers intended to return to Green Bay - dont you think he'd want his best buddy with him? The "best player he'd ever played with" (as AR described Adams).  The tag isnt going to impoverish Adams - so why would Rodgers NOT want them to tag him if necessary? It makes no sense - if - he intends to return.
