The team added CB Brandin Dandridge from the CFL. KC area fans may recognize him as being from of Blue Springs and Missouri Western St. He will attend rookie camp.

With a few additional signings, the 90 man roster is now filled.

Pete Schrager is the definition of a football insider. He had some comments that applied to the Chiefs.

On Isaiah Pacheco

If you haven’t seen Pacheco play, he’s one of the most explosive running backs in this draft, somehow falls to the seventh round to the Kansas City Chiefs, What I love about this kid is his story, an unbelievable one where he has lost two different siblings to heinous, heinous situations. He has lost both his brother and his sister. He is carrying on the tradition of his entire family. “Pacheco wears that with the name is on his jersey but he is carrying a whole town, a whole family and I loved watching him play at Rutgers, and the fact he is now on the big stage, I could not be happier for him going to the Chiefs. Awesome kid, awesome story, and I think he might make an immediate impact on Day 1 for the Kansas City Chiefs out of their backfield.

Answer ing the question, "Who is the most impactful selection outside of the first round?"
His answer--Skyy Moore

If this is a long-term question, then I am very intrigued by USC edge rusher Drake Jackson landing with Kris Kocurek in San Francisco. He is a young player that has not been cut loose to attack the quarterback, which appears to be his strongest trait. Instead, I will focus more on the present and say Moore. There are a lot of mouths to feed in that offense but Moore is the most dynamic player on that roster. With his route-running, Patrick Mahomes should be able to trust him early and that is going to lead to yards after the catch opportunities in Andy Reid’s offense.

He did not love the Bryan Cook pick but still ranked the Chiefs in his top 3  with theRavens and Jets.

Darian Kinnard wants to be the starting RT. With Lucas Niang still rehabbing an injury, not much stands in his way. Andrew Wylie did not embarrass himself at RT last season but he is not who the team wants long term.

If he can clean up his pass pro, I'm all in on Kinnard at RT. In the run game he'd be astounding with Trey Smith next to him.

Talk about a couple of guys who want to rip defenders heads off and crap down their necks…

The combo of Creed, Trey and Kinnard is potentially nasty. Savage run blocking.

Is it just me or are we signing rookies at an astounding rate?

It's not just you. It's the rookie wage scale in operation.

it may be just me, but I suspect Mike Rose and Nazeeh Johnson are the new Do'D and Lammons. They may have a bit more of a chance to get regular snaps.

Here's a forgotten name--Malik Harring. He's been in cold storage since last summer, missing the whole season. While he played DT at Georgia, he also profiles as a DE. Since that sort of position flexibility is a hallmark of Spagnuolo's defenses, it's a point in his favor. In any event, he and Karlaftis made waves in rookie camp.

George Karlaftis and Malik Herring: The story of rookie minicamp so far has been the early dominance shown by these two young pass rushers. Yes, contact is limited, and yes, they are facing rookie offensive linemen, many of which won’t make the team. But the more reports we get of these two beating their blockers and being disruptive, the more hope it gives that this year’s pass rush could be different— and better —than last year. Karlaftis has been talked about as a “safe” or a “high-floor” pick for the Chiefs in Round 1 this year. He’ll be expected to start early, but there’s a wide range of expectations on his actual production. He’s off to the right start, turning heads from Day 1 with his motor and variety of moves. Herring is somewhat of a forgotten man after missing last season with an injury, but he’s got a promising physical profile and skill set that make him an excellent fit for the defense. Watch both of these guys as the pads come on and the veterans show up, if they continue to produce, our worries about the pass rush might be proven as wrong as those of us who doubted Karlaftis in the draft process.

On the subject of players coming off season ending injury, Joshua Kaindoh and Jody Fortson represent two positions where the Chiefs could have devoted more resources and chose not to do so. Yes, we drafted Karaftis in the first round and he becomes the immediate starter presumptive, but he was the only DE taken and only Chenal provides aditional pass rush. it seems Kaindoh and Mike Danna are expected to play significant snaps. Similarly, the team had five picks on the last day of the draft but stood pat on a TE group of Kelce, Gray, Bell, and Fortson.
