He must be really important to that team.

When people were scouting Vic Beasley Debo Sweeney was telling them to take Grady as a  guy who will change your program as a leader and as a player.

Seems like he was right in the sense that Grady has vastly out performed Vic and he seems like a guy you want to have around.

What exactly is Atlantas plan?

Pray to God you tank bad enough to get a top 2 pick and choose between Stroud and Young?

Free up cap this year to get another player and take lumps this year. Have $75M+ next year and a full draft slate + a 4 from Tennessee for Julio Jones to play with. Really set up the playoff roster for next year. See what Ridder has this year.

Completely agree. Falcons did this with Jake Matthews on the offensive side as well. Get them locked in and leading those sides of the ball. They will likely be the captains on their side of the ball until Ridder/Mariota, Andersen and say, London earn the Cs.

Now this is what i like to see huge to bring back Grady.  He's been the 1 guaranteed elite player we have had on defense the entire time he has been here.  Even took less this time on his contract per year than last time.  Not much different though  last time was 17 to 18 mil per year this time it's 16.5 to 17 per year.   Still im a very very happy man right now.

Soooo many D-line/pass rusher busts from Clemson.   I would almost vow to never take a pass rusher from there.    Clellin Ferrel, Christian Wilkins, Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, Vic Beasley, Da'Quan Bowers, Gaines Adams...    R.I.P.

i still don't think Vic was a complete bust of a player though.  You don't lead the entire league in sacks for a year if you are a complete bust lol.   The dude did legit have talent and never had a year under 5 sacks i don't think even his last year here he had 8 sacks.  As a pure pass rusher or 3rd down specialist he was useful.   Now i will say for the 8th pick you would prefer a 10 to 15 sack guy a year every year.  So in that yes he was a bit of a bust but while in the league and here he was still better than all other pass rushers we had lol.

1 thing i think the Falcons did wrong by him was not continue letting him learn from a proven vet edge rusher.  The year he got 15.5 sacks we brought in dwight freeney and Vic said he was helping him a ton during the week to get better.  We let freeney go the year after and quinn said he was going to take over teaching him himself and we see how everything quinn touched turned out on defense when he took over XD

They should have always had a veteran to kick him in the butt. They tried to get Robert Quinn for 17 and that would have been a massive help for him, but Quinn chose a different team. Tried again to get Quinn in 2019 to whip him into shape and well, we all saw where Quinn went.
