I'm not even down on Jimmy, but comparing Kirk to him is an insult in every respect. Cousins is more productive, better rated, has a worse team year in year out, and never gets injured. The only knock on Cousins is his primetime/big game record. But that's about perception and bad luck as much as anything else.
Forge
The thing about Jimmy is that he's seriously living off 2019 in a big way. He's 12-10 since the 2019 season ended in the regular season. Primetime? He's 1-4 in his last 5 from the start of 2020. The one game he won, the team ran the ball 45 times and he threw the ball for less than 200 yards. He's got the 2-1 record in the playoffs from last year, but he was pretty bad in all three games.

Please do some research and fact checking before making a claim, ok? For the 1,000,000h time, not a fair comparison. It's Nick Mullens and CJ Beathard. They shouldn't even be in the league.

He wasn't even that good in 2019. Borderline Top 12-14 QB. Once teams had a full season tape on him, he was good as dead. Jimmy is super limited and super predictable. Weird that that rule doesn't apply when it's inconvenient for whomever is crowning Shanahan as someone who is able to boost a quarterback into a viable starter. Seems like I've heard the same rhetoric over and over again between tribes when it comes to Jimmy's production and Shanahan. Person A: "Jimmy's actually a decent quarterback" Person B: "Nah, not really if it wasn't for Shanahan he'd look terrible. He's basically a QB booster." Person A: "Why can't he make Mullens, Hoyer, Beathard look good then?" Person B: Don't see why it can't be a bit of both. Jimmy has his limitations clearly. Shanahan caters to what strengths he has, and puts him in the best position to succeed. At the same time, Shanahan still needs some semblance of a talented triggerman for as smart and resourceful as he is. Yes that's Jimmy Shanahan or not. That's why he can't win with Beathard, Hoyer, or Mullens.
