How can you leave out Bryce Ford-Wheaton? Take him over Rakim Jarret just for slight chance he actually develops and reaches his potential.... His athleticism is ridiculous.

AN NFC NORTH MOCK-ATHON

An attempt to see what the NFC North could look like after the first 3 rounds. Used PFF for rankings and team needs.

DETROIT

#6) Traded to Washington for #16, #97 and Terry McLaurin (Commanders select Will Levis)

16) Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech (PFF had him here as their 28th ranked player... he could be slipping...)

18) Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland: He's been climbing up draft boards and could be CB3 behind Witherspoon and Gonzalez when all is said and done

48) Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia: I love what his floor can be as a dominant run blocker on a team that wants to dominate the line of scrimmage and running the ball. (RIP Jack Campbell)

55) Keeanu Benton, 3T, Wisconsin: We need to improve inside as well. Benton is going to help beef up the interior pass rush alongside of Hutch, McNeill and now Wilson (with a really solid amount of depth to go with it).

81) Michael Wilson, WR, Stanford: This pick was made forgetting we did just add McLaurin.. however... I've kept it in. We just lost some of our depth pieces in Cephus and Berryhill. Jameson is unproven and is off for 6 games. Marvin is a short term option and Josh Reynolds isn't a long-term starter either. I've always drafted Wilson expecting he'd be #4 on the depth chart anyway. McLaurin doesn't change that a ton.

#97) Chandler Zavala, OG, NC State: We'll be adding at least one, maybe two pieces to our OL in the draft. We'll need to address Vaitai's replacement and stop gap in case the Jonah talks break down plus we're building on a strength.

CHICAGO

#9) Paris Johnson, OT, Ohio State: The Bears go in on Fields and add someone to protect their signal caller. He's OT1 although he's a downgrade from a guy like Ra'Shawn Slater or Penei Sewell. In a division that features Hutch, Wilson and James Houston, they need to protect their dude. He was too banged up to keep this going long-term.

#53) Joe Tippmann, OC, Wisconsin: Another pick that's going towards protecting Fields. Arguably the best two OL guys at their respective positions in the draft.

#61) Clark Phillips, CB, Utah: I'm not sure about the scheme fit but Phillips is a feisty guy and the Bears secondary has some holes to be filled. It can't hurt to add to this group when you're facing the likes of ARSB, McLaurin, Justin Jefferson, Christian Watson, etc twice a year.

#64) Tuli Tuipulotu, Edge, USC: Another question at scheme fit but I like the player. Big body edge that can put pressure on opposing QB's. Chicago's still a team working to add talent and it never hurts to add to the trenches

GREEN BAY

#13) Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State: Somewhat of a sleight towards Aaron Rodgers, somewhat of a desire to help out Jordan Love. JSN is arguably the best WR in this draft. He'll fit really well in the slot as a reliable weapon with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs outside.

#42) Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State: Another addition on the offense to shore up Jordan Love's weapons for the short and long-term. Some analysts consider him to be TE2 in a very talented class

#45) Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M: Not sure about the scheme fit but he fills a need and is a really good player at the position

#78) Cory Trice, CB, Purdue: A corner that I personally really like for the Lions. Provides really good value. Could compete for CB2

MINNESOTA

#23) Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College: Vikings add a reliable and versatile player opposite of Justin Jefferson. It's a dynamic duo that will be difficult to defend against

#87) Tanner McKee, QB, Stanford: Cousins is not a long-term option and the Viking's last project QB, Kellen Mond, is now on the Browns roster. McKee is someone that I really like as an option for the Lions. He has prototypical size while also being more athletic than probably given credit for. Cousins is only signed into 2024 so McKee can sit on the bench this year and has a shot to be considered for the starting role next season
