SotanKing Posted December 11, 2022 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Zimmer consistently had top 3rd down defenses in the league..even in last 2 seasons when the team was depleted due to injuries and had less talent than this year's defense, he was still able to produce a good 3rd down defense. That's an area where the team downgraded a lot this year. They are playing some of the best football of any team in the league. Their early season losses will likely keep them out of the playoffs. Lions are playing as good as anybody, very disappointing to continue to see the Vikes get outclassed against the best of the NFC. Eventually we will have to play Dallas or Philly again. vikingsrule Posted December 12, 2022 Share Posted December 12, 2022 What was KOC expecting with the Donatell hire? He had to know his scheme wasn’t known for being particularly aggressive. Obviously the current defense isn’t sustainable, doubt a change is made in season but it absolutely has to be on the table if KOC is calling out his DC for lack of aggression. And his pressure packages aren’t even getting the job done. Would think we’d get more from the pass rush with a duo of Hunter and Smith.
