Yes .. hold it up Packers!

Correct, they owe no favors to NY or Rodgers. He is under contract, as long as they pay him… they are holding up their side of the deal.

Doesnt matter right… Rodgers doesn’t need to show up until training camp. That’s enough time

The Jets are boxed in right now. There are really no good QB options out their besides Rodgers. They can't take another swing at drafting someone since the owner wants to win now. They probably don't have the draft capital to get up and get one of the 4 QB's either.

The owner opened his mouth and put the GM in a pickle.

Pretty much.  The Jets are not in an envious position.  If they pull out of the Rodgers' trade, their GM is almost certainly going to see that leash tighten.

Do I think that they will get two 1sts for Aaron Rodgers? No. Is that where you start your negotiations? Absolutely. If they use that as leverage to negotiate one 1st and a conditional 2nd next year or something similar. Hold the damn door!

Seems like this should have been settled a while back, but if the Packers are asking for (2) #1's, and the Jets are countering with (2) #2's, it would only make sense to meet in the middle and get it settled.  Packers get pick #13 this year and a 2nd in 24.  Simple.

I would be happy with that at this point.  I do give the Packer brass kudos for holding out for the most they can get, and still crucify them for not trading him when they should have.

I'd be good with that.
