WAS' secondary hasn't been very good, so the risk the improved play isn't sustainable is very real. But there was enough progress the ATL coaches likely will give Ridder more leash now. Given he faces TAM & TEN next, two teams who have been beaten in the pass game with secondary issues, it would be surprising to see him lose the job until after the bye (esp with ARI on Week 12). He should improve against those D's, if he doesn't, well the Heinecke calls will obv come back in full force. The Heinicke calls are going to fall on deaf ears. Arthur Smith isn't even considering a change.

So basically everyone with the exception of the article you posted has him 25 and below. Edited October 18, 2023 by lavar703

But I also don't agree that he had a solid game outside of three interceptions. You can't have a solid game throwing three interceptions. It's just not possible. If a RB runs for 100 yards and scores a TD but fumbles 4 times and his team lost directly because of it would we say he had a solid performance? I mean, I hope for your sake Scar he turns out great. I really have no dog in the fight. I just don't think he's been good and I've watched most of your games this year because I got the ticket and wanted to see Bijan play. And again, you take out the INTs and it's very true that he had a good game outside of those 3 plays.

You take out the TDs for Sam Howell, and his game was terrible. He can't feel pressure and he's inaccurate. Again, does that sound ridiculous to you? Or does that sound like what actually happened? Soko
In a league that has guys like Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Jameis Winston, Gardner Minshew, Josh Dobbs, Baker Mayfield, PJ Walker, Andy Dalton, Kenny Pickett, Aidan O’Connell, Justin Fields, Jordan Love, and soon to be Tyson Bagent/Malik Willis starting football games…I’m not sure being top 25 is as big of a flex (25th is a flex?) as some may think it is… And that’s not even including terrible veterans like Watson, Tannehill, and Jimmy G. VigilantZombie
When Ridder came out I thought just maybe he could develop and be a good QB. Now, I think I was wrong. Atlanta has plenty of talent but they are below average at QB.
tyler735
If you take out the good plays by the QB Ridder went against and also take away the bad plays Ridder made, I think it’s safe to say Ridder was close to the best QB on the field in that game.

If that’s how you feel my man but we aren’t talking about Howell here. You can’t just say he had a good game outside of turning the ball over 3 times. You didn’t have a good game if you threw three interceptions.
SalvadorsDeli
Have been in the football message board game long enough to know that this specific level of hair-splitting when it comes to defending your young QB is one of the inevitable last stops of denial before you gradually start to make your way to acceptance
