2024 Blue Chips

Danger

Recommended Posts

Lets get this out of the way Early

The obvious ones:

QB Caleb Williams
WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
TE Brock Bowers (still a TE, so a bit of positional consideration)

Maybe
QB Drake Maye
EDGE Dallas Turner
CB Kool-Aid McKinstry
OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu

Any others on your radar as probably top 5-10 guys?

Top of the draft next year definitely feels stronger than this years.

Couple CBs to keep your eye on that could both be very solid blue chippers if they repeat their 2022 seasons: Max Melton and Cooper DeJean

I absolutely LOVE Max Melton. But he’s not a Blue-Chipper. IMO, a blue chip prospect has elite tape and elite physical measurables, creating a crazy ceiling and high floor simultaneously. Not sure Melton has the size profile to ever be a blue chip.

Is Bowers too small too be a blue chip, no matter how well he plays or his workout numbers?

He’s listed at 6’4, so he’s probably 6’3. Very lean. He’s below average size for a TE. His arm and hand measurements will be interesting.

I'm with ya there. I actually didn't Google his size at all but know he definitely looks slight on film from last year. He's aggressive but he doesn't have any oomph when he hits guys. IF (big of) he can stack on some mass he has a chance though I think. Just looked at he's listed at 6'0" 190ish, which probably means he's 5'10.5" - 5'11" and I don't think he played above 175 last year. If he comes in at 5'11-6'0" and 185+ he could be a blue chip guy I think.

But I definitely agree he played kinda small last year, so we'll see

He’s a today’s TE. Move player who is a mismatch nightmare. Legitimate speed. I’ll be interested to see how he plays outside of Monken’s scheme. He’s not too small for the role he will be asked to play.

@MacReady turned me into him. He's mad crushing on him

Yeah, man. He’s my guy. He’s going to be that Woodson/Fitzpatrick/Reed type. He’s gonna create turnovers. Not just get them, but create them. He’s a former QB who plays DB like a WR.

He plays defense with an offensive mind.
