JDBrocks
Don’t know much about him. I like the position and the description ESPN gave. Edited April 29, 2023 by JDBrocks
swede700
I'll have to do more research, but I'm okay with it. It clearly has to be a Flores pick.

vikingsrule
CB seems like one of the spots where they’ll need someone to step in immediately. Would assume 2 of the starting CB spots are wide open at this point. Is Blackmon a better fit than Booth?

SemperFeist
For a CB who’s listed at 178 pounds, that second point is impressive.
vike daddy
did he practice with Addison...?
Purplepride323
Kwesi giving Spielman vibes by drafting college teammates from the same draft class. Only time will tell how good he’ll be compared to all of the other CBs still available. I haven’t watched much of his tape but he did have a very impressive PFF rating last year, and Kwesi is an analytics guy so it makes sense. Morlee
Hoping for the best for this team. Maybe they take Ringo too, with the next pick.
Purplepride323
Impressive game against a tough UCLA offense. Chip Kelly runs an NFL type of offense so Blackmon was forced to make a lot of NFL type of plays and he does a great job at that during this game. He looks very sticky and hard to shake off. It seems like he’s always in the receiver’s hip pocket. He’s also a sure tackler and plays with a tough demeanor. Maybe doesn’t have the best long speed, but the hips and change of direction are elite. I think Addison and Blackmon being teammates at USC and practicing against each other everyday made both of them better players, and hopefully they can keep doing that at the next level. vike daddy
all the descriptions sure are of a Flores kind of guy.
vike daddy
102. Vikings: Mekhi Blackmon, CB, USC Grade: A- Chippy, sticky outside CB with a tiny, spindly frame. Always around the football. Was a big-time sleeper. Can play inside or on the perimeter. Great pick. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2023-here-are-the-best-prospects-available-entering-day-3-including-several-strong-wrs-dbs/ One of PFF analyst Sam Monson’s favorite players in the draft, Blackmon is coming off by far the best season of his college career. On the field for 907 snaps, he produced a 90.6 PFF grade and allowed just 47.6% of the passes thrown into his coverage to be caught. He missed only two tackles in 2022. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2023-nfl-draft-grades-all-day-2-picks#RD3
