2024 NFL Draft Discussion

For day 3, absolutely have no issues going after a kicker.  Carlson lost rights to the circle of trust yesterday.  Absolutely not good enough.

Also, if Cooper DeJean is there at 18 still, Id get a trade up package ready to go.

There's probably 10 better FA safeties than Savage.

I hope he's not the answer

Cross probably 4-6 of those guys off the list as they'll get franchised or be out of our price range, plus Savage could be a good fit for a slot corner too depending on our DC next year. Makes sense if the value was right.

What's that cost? 3rd round pick?

This game made it glaringly obvious Gute needs to treat the DB room like he did the WR and TE room.

Our OL>>> our Secondary

Time to focus on MOF defenders in this draft

And again, a coordinator that knows best how to utilize them .. all his defensive players and their best attributes.  Just not happening.

Who do you think will be franchised? And why can't we pay a safety?

Joe Barry stays I’d like our first round pick traded for a next year’s first round pick plus Gary, Alexander, LVN, Clark, Wyatt and everyone else on defense traded for future picks plus Love and Reed and Doubs and Jones and everyone else on offense traded for future picks.

LOL .. you are spot on.

Lotta teams would love to have Joe Barry's playoff results

How about the regular season? How about winning the division with the defense leading the offense (which what was to be expected)?  How about a coordinator that doesn't have to get his *** chewed each year toward the end of the season to do his job?  How about a coach who puts his best players in position to utilize their skills?  How about a coach who is just average year after year in what he does?  Two games doesn't make him worth crap .. I'm so over him.

Yeah, I'm not looking at RB's until RD3.  At that point, there are several I'd be fine with.  Outside the draft, I imagine Gute could be exploring the RB FA market.

Yeah a short yardage specialist would be nice….  Hunt or Murray for cheap…

Winfield 100% for sure, maybe Duggar or Curl if their respective teams cant reach a deal and they're important enough to retain. The top safety I think comes in our range is Geno Stone, and he's just Darnell Savage utilized properly. McKinney is interesting too. We need two safeties though and could use a slot CB option, as you said. Why turn away a guy who can plug one of those needs for cheap?

One of those spots goes to Savage I think if he comes back on a reasonable deal.

Agree.

His dead cap hit is 5.4m and re-signing him probably only adds 1-2m to that number. I can't see a way that he isn't bought back.
