London Gameplan:

Offense
Spread- Offensively, we're going to come out and spread out the field, utilizing multiple receiver formations and often going 4 and 5 wide. We're going to have Mariota and CJ Anderson work out of the backfield in shotgun and pistol formations. With the field spread, we will take advantage of our speed at receiver and find the open guy in man coverage, or locate the hole in zone to hit the receiver in stride. Running plays, we'll keep the threat of the option in with Mariota being able to pick up chunks of yardage, and we'll implement some read-pass option plays as well, so that the defense cannot stack the box. We'll run a number of sweep plays with the receivers, some of them fakes and others the real deal, to keep the defense honest. All in all, our goal is to limit the number of defenders in the box, so that running plays can pick up solid chunks of yardage and allow us to move down the field.

Up Tempo- We feel we can tire out the defense by rotating a number of receivers in, and running a hurry up as well. We'll take a number of deep shots to keep their safeties honest, and our goal is to have their DBs gassed in the second half, where we'll see the payoff of sending a fast guy deep. It'll also force them to not be able to take advantage of their defensive linemen depth and limit their rotation. They have a very formidable defensive line, so hopefully gassing those guys will negate the pass rush later in the game.

Don't Turn The Ball Over- Sounds simple enough, but Mariota has had a few ugly interceptions the past few games. We are going to prioritize safer passes and easier reads for Mariota, and give him the green light to take off and pick what he can with his legs. We'll give him a number of bootlegs and roll outs to help negate some of the pass rush, and make the defensive lineman get tired by chasing him around, so late game the option will be even more dangerous. Walker will be his safety valve that he'll be able to find if a play breaks down, and we're going to prioritize throwing the ball away against taking a risky shot downfield.

Defense
4-3 Defense- For this matchup we'll come out with our base defense, although of course if they come out 3 or 4 wide, we'll adjust accordingly, with Adoree Jackson being our nickel CB. Our safeties will be prioritizing helping out against the passing game, but if necessarily we'll drop Jefferson closer to the line of scrimmage. They have a pretty stout offensive line, but we feel that with 7 or 8 in the box we'll be able to compete and limit their running plays. All in all, we'll adjust our formation and personnel based on what they come out with, but our emphasis will be to adapt to what they want to come out with, and throw them off their game.

Keep Russell Wilson Contained- We're going to utilize a spy on Russell Wilson in this game, with Mark Barron getting the primary job, and keep him in the pocket. If he starts to drift out or maneuvers his way out of the pocket to escape the pass rush, we want a guy coming downhill fast to stop him in his tracks. Obviously he's more than capable of winning with his arm, but we are going to limit the damage he can do to us by scrambling.

Pressure Wilson-  Pretty straightforward, we are going to utilize a variety of blitzes to come after Russell Wilson and not give him time to hit his playmakers deep. It'll be a variety of linebacker and DB blitzes, we'll have stunts to try and free up a man to get pressure. Even if we don't necessarily get home with the sacks, we want to make him get rid of the football quickly. Mack will be shifted around in the defensive front, some 3 man fronts with Mack standing up and Williams shifting out a bit further to the 5 tech, we'll also flip him around on the line to avoiding having Lewan on him all day. We know that they will likely still make a few plays, but we want to limit their opportunities.

Orlando Offense:

The Ospreys this week will let Wilson spread the field and pick apart London’s defense. We’ll make sure to establish the run with Hyde and Kamara early, featuring mostly outside sweeps and off tackle runs to wear out the LBs and pull Jefferson down lower into the box. We will be sure to chip Mack with the TE and RBs to give Wilson more time to find the open pass catchers. Even though we respect the coverage abilities of Kwon Alexander, Gronk will see a healthy amount of targets this game as we believe that he will present a match-up win for Orlando. On the outside we expect Evans to matched-up with the rookie White, Alshon to see the underperforming Butler, presumably Haden will cover Bryant on the outside. Every one of these match-ups is a plus in our book. With Jefferson helping out the run Wilson will be able to find one on one coverage to the outside to pick up chuk yardage down the field. While we know Earl Thomas will be patrolling center field we will be sure to keep the ball out of this range with more intermediate throws that will allow our large WRs to get the ball in their hands early and get YAC. Wilson will also have the freedom to take off on occasion to keep the defense honest and not allow them to turn their backs. Overall while London has a solid defense all around we just too many weapons capable of picking up yards and points.

Orlando Defense

The goal of the Orlando defense will be to harass Mariota. He has not been performing up to par as of late and our defense plans to keep that trend going. Our DL rotation again remains intact and will make life difficult for Mariota with Beasley, Bosa, and Lawson on the outside and Suh, Poe, Shelton and Clark rotating in the middle we should be able to get pressure only rushing 4. Wagner and Kirksey will be responsible for running game and TEs (CJ Anderson and Delanie Walker, meh). On the outside Jalen Ramsey will be responsible for shutting down Brandon Cooks, James Bradberry will get Robby Anderson, and BBC will get Marquis Lee. I don’t expect any of these match-ups to cause considerable trouble but McLeod and Neal will play over the top to keep everything in front of them and provide clean up coverage. Overall we think Mariota will struggle to get anything going against our defense and our DL to feast this game as there should be some sacks and turnovers by London because of the pressure we bring.

I love the up tempo by London to try to gas a more talented defense, but I think Orlando is just a little too deep to lose that way.

London has been so close to have an elite team for a couple years now and Taylor just wasn't dedicated enough to finish the job, I hope Rusty does it.

Rob Gronkowski and Tre'Davious White are on the same field in BDL too... What could go wrong?

I think London went mainly man-to-man with their defense? Orlando should have good or better matchups across the board with their pass catchers and they outgun London in this one.
