GDT Week 2: Packers at Flacons

Multiple parties to blame here

1. Joe Barry owns the biggest botch on this one.  3 huge 4th down pickups allowed here that kept ATL in it

2. Matt LaFleur blew it on the opening drive and called it way too safe with the 2 point lead.  He too deserves to catch flack today.

3. I love me some Love and fully back him, but in critical time he missed a few throws and missed an open Doubs on the series right after ATL pulled within 24-19.  He'll learn and get better for it, but gotta call missed opportunities what they are here.

Good news today is everyone else in the NFC North lost.  Pack it in, get ready for the Saints next week.

The reality is that this team could use a middle of the road season where Love and the young players show real promise, but with a record that nets us relatively high draft picks in the end, a la Rodgers first season. So far, I’m fine with how things are looking

I went into this year hoping they can get 8 or even 9 wins. Division isnt' strong and on paper they have a pretty favorable schedule. Gotta expect frustrating games like this with a young team for sure. We saw them lose so many like this in 2008

It's a bummer in the moment to see them blow 12 pt 4th quarter lead, but gotta keep the big picture into perspective. Young guys are flashing and despite the poor 4th, I thought Love played better today than he did in Week 1

Wasting the opening play pass interference by not scoring looking a lot worse now.

The defense was a mess most of the game and Love was off early and late in the game.  Dillon should just settle down in the north and hunt and fish the rest of his life.  Musgrave being absent was confusing.  Not sure if he was just covered the whole time or Love stopped looking for him.

What did we have 10 yards if offense in the 4th quarter? What a joke.

I mean, Falcons possessed the ball for more than 20 minutes in the 2nd half.  Kinda hard to get yards when your offense isn't on the field.  Curious how you choose to cherrypick the 4th quarter.

This is certainly a game that would have been won pretty easily if all those who actually thought Barry was going to figure out how to field a good defense were right.  This team will have a very real ceiling as long as Barry is DC.  Was the defense unaware that Ridder is allowed to run, and it's probably what he does best?

I also assume most of the pro-Dillon crowd has to at least be wavering by now. The guy definitely isn't what GB thought they were getting when they selected him.

The farting around on 4th and inches was an embarrassing lack of balls. Get your QB under center, get Deguara behind him and sneak the damn ball.

I don't think Love was supposed to actually sneak it. He tried playing hero ball and Meyer just didn't snap it.

They sucked pretty much the whole game if that makes you feel better.
