Sorry to those fans.. but who decided this as the SNF game.

The schedule makers will always try to have the Steelers and Raiders on primetime at some point, because it’s two big fanbases and a lot of eyes on the game. Whether we should be really picking popular teams rather than good teams is a different debate altogether, but it’s definitely a thing.

Probably explains why this one has been scheduled so early in the season as well, before either team can properly stink the joint out.

Well, if nothing else, we can keep staring at Jimmy's face.

Yeah regardless if they are good or not, Steelers will have a ton of primetime. Raiders went a lot of years without much primetime, but since the Vegas move the NFL is definitely giving them way more primetime. Have to advertise the new Vegas market team and new stadium. Also, the Super Bowl is there. Have to show the stadium on TV a lot this year. Makes sense Packers/Raiders is also primetime two weeks from now. If you’re asking about the most popular fanbases in the NFL it’s gotta be Cowboys #1 and then 49ers, Eagles, Giants, Raiders, Steelers, Packers, Chiefs, Patriots, and Browns in no order. But I’m sure the NFL is probably treading cautiously with Deshaun Watson being on too much primetime.

Lucky as hell all things considered.

There's damage to the ACL, it's not as rosy as that sounds.    There was damage seen, and given the mechanism and the plan to repair the meniscus, they'll likely know more when they go in to repair that (that's what happened to Von Miller FWIW).   Given the mechanism and what we saw, you want to wait until all the swelling goes down, and if they're going in with a scope to repair the meniscus, they'll go and really see what's up with the ACL.   Given what we saw, it would be beyond shocking that he doesn't need the full reconstruction.

Honestly, the fact he didn't have nerve or vascular damage (both are pretty much career-ending and potentially life-altering), is amazing on its own.  Obv we all hope for the best, but to say it's premature to say he's out of the woods is an understatement.
