In Flores We Trust - How Good Can This Defense Be?

This is pretty remarkable. Outside of that Eagles game, they've been very very good. This was exactly what we'd been asking for: "If the defense is even middle of the road, the offense can take this team a long way".

Not to make everything about Kirk, but every stat we see about various improvements being made by players (Ingram, Addison, Bynum, the defense in general), and Flo's scheme makes the injury that much more devastating.

At roughly the halfway point the Vikings defensive ranks:

PPG: 15th (20.3)
YPG: 11th (322.8)
PYPG: 15th (221.1)
RYPG: 13th (101.6)
Sacks: 9th (23)
Missed Tackles: t10th (40)
Penalties: 29th (7.38 pg)

Now get Flores some game-wreckers up front and see what happens...

They've been significantly better than I expected (as can be seen from some of my posts prior to the regular season), so I've been very happy...but, now they need to step it up even another level.

the only way that happens this year is via a trade for IDL help, IMO.

It kind of feels like Metellus and Bynum are growing into that before our very eyes. The later for sure, but Metellus is really flourishing in this scheme.

I'm talking about on the defensive line. Our front 3 are pedestrian (although Horrible Harry had an excellent game against Green Bay). They've been better, but there's certainly room for them to improve.
