CP3MVP
It’s kinda interesting how some coordinators in charge of bad sides of units get HC jobs. I know people can make the argument of “well Matt Lafluer Was the OC of the 27th ranked titans offense and he turned out to be a good HC” yeah but how did he get that chance compared to other OC’s/DC’s of bad units. Patriots record with Mayo this season? What do you predict? What kind offense do the pats run anyways? What did Josh use? 2 TEs?

Also: Seattle is going Dan Quinn Washington is going Ben Johnson I'd expect Durde to follow Quinn for DC. I wouldn't be surprised if the FAlcons DC is Anthony Pleasant or Ejiro Evero and the OC here ends up being Zac Robinson. Tepper seemed hell bent on keeping Evero no? 4thandInches
1 hour ago, Broncofan said: The big reason I’m down on Kingsbury is that once teams adapted to his O system he didn’t have a response. Similar to Chip Kelly in PHI. Maybe he’s learned. Maybe Chip has. But often they don’t. You can say that about a lot of coaches so I’m not trying to single them out. But it’s also why the perennial excellent O minds (McVay, Shanny, Reid, etc) disciples get so much interest. You know they’re learning from mentors who are constantly innovating and adapting. What separates the success stories from the busts is adaptability. Nagy clearly had no real skill when he went to CHI he just knew the Reid system. Guys like McDaniel learned more than just copying Shanny’s system. If Kingsbury finds success going a different route I’ll upgrade him. Success in the first year or 2 with a new idea but without any subsequent success, I’m skeptical on. My 2 cents. I feel kliff gets unfair blaming. Judging him as a HC with his time with Arizona to me is virtually impossible. He had to coach a QB who A: needed to be legally writen on his contract to study (huge red flag) B: publicly told the media he prefers to freestyle plays, which is basically anti coaching Everyone laughs at their end of season implosions, but I feel that had more to do that defenses figured him out because he had to keep his scheme simple and basic because his lazy QB was more interested in playing call of duty. We’ve lost a number of guys. Yet McVay keeps producing and finding talented guys he teaches up. It’s super impressive considering what the eagles just went thru. I don’t think he gets credit along with Kyle Shannahan. They just put out great coaches. KOC, Shane Waldron, Evero, Joe Barry, Raheem, Zac T, Zach R, MLF, and Staley. While they don’t come from his tree per se he’s given them the chance to shine. He’s given them the opportunity to succeed… I wish I knew Sean, I’ll be coaching the Seattle Seahawks rn. We’ve been poached like crazy. Guys in my back yard too! Ima see if I can sneak in the facility and pour my heart out before security comes in and claps my cheeks. This is the first year I think I’ve truly appreciated Sean McVay, but you’re right. He’s not just a top tier coach, but he’s created a top tier culture as well. I thought going into this season that he was a pretty good coach, but one who benefitted from a front office that had made a bunch of “win now” trades and given him a ton of resources to work with. But seeing the Rams this year with a roster that (on paper) looked like a Stafford, Donald and a bunch of JAGs, where he’s coached them up to a playoff contender, AND dealt with a ton of staff turnover because his coaches keep getting poached - it’s some seriously impressive work. Big respect to McVay.

Mr.UFO
8 hours ago, RaidersAreOne said: How would people feel about Kliff Kingsbury purely as an OC? The Raiders are interviewing him and I personally would really dig it. If he doesn't get that job, I think Atlanta would be a great fit. Kyle Pitts, Mack Hollins (if he's still there), and Bijan Robinson would be ideal for his system. Edited January 27 by Mr.UFO
