Man, no guys I'd be interested based on just their names this year.  That's a sad

The fact that the name Quinshon Judkins doesn’t interest you is strictly a you problem…….

QB rankings

Disclaimer: These rankings are subjective and a combination of both production from last year and projection of this year. Differences of opinion here is valid. It’s my rankings and I welcome any difference of opinion.

Tier 1: Solo Reigns

1. Patrick Mahomes: Best player in the league. Back to back SB champion. This is not up for discussion.

Tier 2: The Elite Ones

2. Josh Allen: He played well inspite of Diggs regressing in the second half of the season. A complete package in terms of rushing and passing.

3. Lamar Jackson: 2x MVP. I think the playoff narratives are bogus (6 games in total) but they will remain unless he can win the big one. Todd Monken was a godsend outside of the playoff game vs KC where he ran 6 times total against a team that finished with 17 points.

4. Joe Burrow: IMO Burrow is the QB I’d want in this bunch in a playoff situation. He’s also the only one in this tier to beat Mahomes in the playoffs and the only QB to make a Super Bowl. So why is here 4th? Injuries. Cincy’s season was ruined last year because of it.

Tier 3: Sky high ceilings, questionable production?

5. CJ Stroud: You don’t need to tell me this is insanely high for Stroud. I think extremely high of him and he can win a Super Bowl if his level of play last season can be maintained.

6. Jordan Love: Same with Stroud. Is he overrated here? Possibly. But the ceiling is Super Bowl and that’s enough to elevate him in one year of starting over others with a better resume or more established production.

Tier 4: Established starters with established resumes

7. Justin Herbert: If we’re doing a create a player, Herbert is the guy you’re building. Los Angeles down year is not reflected of him as a talent but like most situations players can rated higher or lower based on the success of their team. He’ll bounce back with Harbaugh but everyone will be interested in how much production he’ll have with a coaching staff seemingly invested in running the ball and relying on defense.

8. Matthew Stafford: Remains a high end starter and should be for a few more years. He’s still very good when he has talent around him.

9. Dak Prescott: Coming off a career year, Dak is a more than capable player at the position. The lack of playoff success is pretty big with him (nearing 10 years as a starter).

10. Jalen Hurts: Hurts gets the edge over Purdy mostly due to his exceptional rushing ability and produces at a high level in this area of his game.

Tier 5: The future (and career reinassance guys)

11. Brock Purdy: Feels pretty criminal to rate Purdy this low. Two years as a starter, NFCCG appearance and Super Bowl starter. Regardless of how you look at this ranking, it’s pretty exceptional for Mr. Irrelevant. Also want to highlight his ability to make plays out of the structure of the pocket. That ability could keep him as a legitimate starter once SF has to effectively rearrange their salary cap around him.

12. Tua Tagoviloa: Tua’s not that hard to rank. He’s pretty similar to Dak Prescott. Statistically he was one of the best but when asked to make plays outside the structure, you see the flaws in his game. He’s also the reigning BDL champion, so this level of play is good enough for a QB on a rookie deal in this league.

13. Jared Goff: Kudos to Goff and his ability to find more than a groove but a real level of success with Detroit. At his peak, he’s as high as tier 2 with a floor at the level below this.

14. Trevor Lawrence: My guy! A firm Lawrence believer, his biggest asset is the eye test. Statistically, the numbers aren’t there. Wins-Losses. Not there. There’s “rational” we can use to defend him but it’s very much a crossroads in our league for him this year. Jacksonville, conversely has let it be known that eyes are not on Trevor entering year 4.

Tier 6: Last group of BDL starters

15. Aaron Rodgers: If this was a ranking of career accomplishments, Rodgers is #2 at the lowest. But he’s now 40 years old, coming off a devastating knee injury, and had one of the worst seasons of his career as a starter the last time we saw him play a full season. The upside is certainly there but we’ve never seen a 40 year old player return from an Achilles injury.

16. Kirk Cousins: Likewise another QB coming off an injury. Cousins is also much older and never been known for his mobility. He’s still a reasonable starter and not trending in autoloss category if he’s the guy you trot out in our league. Let’s see what he does next year with a really fun offense potentially around him.

Next One up

17. Baker Mayfield: Baker can get you a few wins in our league and make you competitive with a real roster like last season. He’s probably the best backup QB (only 16 starters) in our league right now.

Honorable Mention (No Order): Deshaun Watson, Kyler Murray, Geno Smith

RB Rankings

Disclaimer: These rankings are subjective and a combination of both production from last year and projection of this year. Differences of opinion here is valid. It’s my rankings and I welcome any difference of opinion.

Tier 1: Mr. Do it All

1. Christian McCaffery: Similar to QB, best RB is not up for discussion.

Tier 2: Elite level

2. Breece Hall: The next closest thing to best player at the position. Elite level receiving work. Capable of breaking massive plays on any touch.

3. Jonathan Taylor: More than just a runner but flashes the elite ability to turn any play into a big one. He can stomach 20+ carries every week.

4. Derrick Henry: Henry is still mostly just a downhill runner but he’s dominant with that skill set and can handle over 20 carries.

Tier 3: True Workhorses

5. Saquan Barkley: One of the hardest players to rank. Elite receiving ability and a focal point for defenses. He’ll have the best OL of his career and offensive situation in Philly. All eyes on him.

6. Bijan Robinson: Bijan’s draft capital and performance slightly overrate him but he can easily blossom to tier 2 next year and challenge for the top spot by 2026.

7. Kyren Williams: From afterthought to 3 down RB. The Rams RB1 ideally in McVay’s mind gets massive opportunity and it’s hard to say Kyren didn’t take full advantage.

8. Nick Chubb: No idea how to rank Chubb. He will probably miss a portion of the season and most likely won’t be the player we’re used to seeing when he plays. I probably rank him lower but taking into account if he’s anywhere near his prior performance, this is still one of the games truly elite RBs even without major receiving opportunities in his career.

9. James Conner: The most underrated back in football. Connor’s done very well for himself in Arizona and has receiving chops alongside his above average running ability. I am a major advocate of his work when he’s healthy.

Tier 4: 3 down RBs

10. Jahmyr Gibbs: Like Bijan, his upside is enough to challenge for RB1 overall by the start of the 2026 season and he can move into RB2 tier this year if he’s not there already. Montgomery figures to limit that to an extent but Gibbs is arguably the most dangerous player with the ball in his hands at RB right now. High end receiver upside too.

11. Travis Etienne: Another Smuggler appearance. Etienne’s usage has been sky high in the last two seasons. The YPC was not so it’ll be interesting seeing how he can balance that act of major responsibility while maintaining analytical marks that reflect on him positively.

12. James Cook: Another dynamic weapon with the ball in his hands. Cook had some bad drops last season but frequently had games with over 5.0 YPC in Buffalo’s scheme. He had ups and downs last season but should make the leap to the next tier if he maintains the electrifying play that was his ceiling last year.

13. Isaiah Pacheco: You would be surprised at how deep RB is. IMO Pacheco is a fine starter and a plus player at his position. He did well as a receiver last year and runs as hard as anyone. Playing with Mahomes gives him some leeway but in that offense last season, there were stretches defense could focus on him and that didn’t stop KC from still being a good rushing team, in part to Pacheco’s effectiveness.

14. Josh Jacobs: A year removed from a rushing title, Jacobs is still one of the handful of 3 down RBs with an established resume. It will be interesting to see how long he can keep that contract Green Bay signed this offseason.

15. Aaron Jones: Jacobs and Jones had pretty similar seasons in recent years. I think I’d go Jones by player preference because of his receiving ability but Jacobs overall ability is what decided the ranking.

Tier 5: Capable Starters

16. Kenneth Walker: Took a little drop this year as year 2 wasn’t as successful as year 1. He’s still a starter in this league regardless but with a new regime and a possible year 2 Charbonnet season coming up, we may have a subtle crossroads season coming up.

Next Man Up

17. De’Andre Swift: Had a great year last season with the Eagles offense. Showed what he can do staying healthy. A 3 down player with significant usefulness in the receiving game.

Honorable Mention (No Order): Raachad White, Rhomandre Stevenson, Najee Harris, David Montgomery, Alvin Kamara, Raheem Mostert, Devon Achane

Breece Hall is going into his third season, is averaging 61 rushing yards per game, and has 14 total touchdowns. How in the world are you projecting him to be the second-best running back in the league.
