Exactly, it's not like he didn't provided them with talent and a franchise QB, there were some seasons where they had a rash of major injuries too. If anything you can downgrade him for his pick of coaches. Maybe that's why the coach was chosen for him here.

NYRaider
Telesco's biggest issue in LA was that his teams were always extremely top heavy. And to be honest it looks like we're headed toward a similar roster build. Signing Wilkins was obviously a great move but it really limited us from filling other holes. And now we're in a position that if we trade up for a QB we're likely not going to have the draft capital to fill them. So it's either move up for one of the top QB's and go into next year with glaring holes or fill our holes and punt next year with Minshew at QB. Still plenty of money to fill some holes. Any team that trades up does it at the expense of addressing other positions.

We have enough cap space to sign 2-3 solid players still, plus depth that doesn’t affect the top 51 that much. Or maybe something has been brewing in terms of a trade that Hondo eluded to and reserving cap space for that… if not then the lack of even mid tier signings has been a little frustrating but I also know free agency is only days in so the product in a month from now will obviously have more pieces.. well also have that $24 mil post June 1st so there will definitely be players on the market after teams filled draft holes that we can be active on the trade market for as well. No need to have much concern 6 months before Week 1!

We needed another elite talent on defense and we got it. We had a lot of returning starters from last season. The FAs who left and were cut , replacements are pretty much there and arguably better. There’s another wave of FA and potential trades that can happen to use the space.
Humble_Beast
Tom T biggest issues was the owner was cheap with head coaches, and they had bad luck with injuries
Justwinning
I’m hoping the cap space that opens up after June 1st goes towards extensions to dudes like Koonce and Hobbs. I think they’re going to ball out this year so it would be smart to get ahead on their extensions.

Well what do you expect him to do in a few months time? We have no QB and a bunch of holes in our roster. I actually like what he did in FA. Not spend the house on a bunch of average starters, but get elite talent at DT and sign some decent guys (the te and d-line) for ok money. If he can land some o-line talent and maybe some db help in the draft our roster would actually be improved a lot and would be ready to plug in a rookie QB.

He started off his tenure by addressing the trenches on both sides. Andre James may not be the best C in the league, but with the way OGs were getting paid, he was smart to lock up James with a reasonable contract instead of dishing out a 4-year 100M contract for an average/good OL.
