rob_shadows
So basically it's just a matter of seeing which Iowa TE he'll be backing up next year.
Forge
It's the same contract that the falcons just gave 49ers tight end Charlie Woerner
sparky151
I doubt Lions match that. 4 mil per for the backup TE is a lot.
Nex_Gen
Brock Wright is such a TE name...
General Tso
It's only 1M more per year than their offer and locks him up. I don't see why you really need to penny pinch for something like this.

The Lions announced that they have opted to match the offer rather than allowing Wright to leave for their NFC Championship Game opponents. It is reportedly a three-year deal for Wright worth $12 million. There was $6 million in guaranteed money included in the offer. The Lions’ original restricted free agent tender was for $2.985 million, so it’s a significant increase for Wright. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/lions-match-49ers-offer-sheet-to-brock-wright

He won us a game in '23 and '24. Think that's worth a slight payraise.

diehardlionfan
I would’ve been shocked had they not matched. Wright is an important part of the run game.
