Did they state what's ailing him?

Gute said it was a tweak from his football camp. Probably an 8 year old beat him on a route. It is supposed to be a very minor thing and he will practice later in the week by all accounts.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said QB Jordan Love will not practice until the two sides can get done the contract extension that they’ve been working on.

Didn't see this one coming, but I also have to think it means they are close.

He's a fringe #2 TE on a good day.  But he's probably TE3 for most teams, and teams usually don't commit to TE3 very often.

I mean, he is on a UDFA contract.  They had Josh Oliver, Johnny Mundt, and Nick Muse on roster at TE*, and Kene Nwangwu for 9 games as a 4th RB.

*in addition to TJ Hockenson, of course

We should know pretty soon if the media narrative of moving Tom inside was legit.  Camp would get much more interesting if Tom actually started taking reps at C.

I just think that'd mean we're not going to be as good as we thought we were.

Same. It's an obvious power-play move by his agency to try to push the Packers across the finish line. They know the Packers want/need Love to be getting as many reps as possible because he's still a young QB and 2nd year starter.

Andrew Brandt -    Translation: this deal’s getting done soon.

He's about to be a 280 million dollar man, it's not a power play, just good business. One torn ACL and that could all be gone.
