Who are your favorite vocalists in music

Doesnt have to be the best

Heres mine in just the order it came to my mind

1. Mike Patton - Mr. Bungle/Faith No More

The man can hit so many octaves and can sing at any pace. Just a wonder to behold

2. Jello Biafra - Dead Kennedys

Whats to say here. Such captivating vocals. By far the best "punk" type voice

3. Su Tissue - Suburban Lawns.

Such a unique playful voice and really elevates the band

4. Gene Ween - Ween

Can be silly, serious, heartfelt, vulgar, and can be elite at every genre he tries. Seen him live 3 times and it was always great

5. Freddy Mercury - Queen

duh

6. Courtney Barnett

A cooler version of Jewel.

7.  Dave Mustaine  - Megadeth

Megadeths band is awesome but Daves clean voice sets it apart. The last great album was Youthenasia and hes not as great live, but its pretty elite, especially for metal

8 Bradley Roberts - Crash Test Dummies

not a one hit wonder. Hes like an opera.

9 Cibo Matto

Japanese singers. They are awesome

10  Leonard Cohen

The master.

Honorable mentions

John S. Hall - King Missle

Andrew Eldritch - Sisters of Mercy

Mark  Mothersbaugh - Devo

Regina Spektor

 Eugene Hütz -  Golgol Bordello

David Bowie

Roy Orbison, Sam Cook, Tori Amos, Julian Casablancas, Ian Curtis (Joy Division), Ian MacKaye (Fugazi), Ry Cooder, JJ Cale, Daniel Rossen, Jarboe, Zappa

I'm a big fan of Steve Albini in most respects except personality. I love his voice but he's not really known for that.

@Malfatron absolutely nailed it with Mike Patton and Aaron Freeman

Ian Curtis is the greatest lyricist IMO. Just an amazing frontman overall.

Jello Biafra is a great shout. DK is one of those bands that's better the louder you turn it up

Young Bob Dylan had a beautiful voice. The smoking and drinking transformed it into something I still love, but many don't

Otis Redding

Johnny Cash

Alice Cooper

Meatloaf

Donovan

Ozzy

Olivia Newton John

Laura Branigan
