Did you ride a bus to school that was shorter than the rest of the buses?

Passer rating allowed above 80 the last two years, 88+ last year. 58% and 59% completion allowed, which is solid, but not elite. Off of 91 targets too. 4 TDs allowed in 2022, 3 in 2023 - again, good but not great. Not the end of the world, but he doesn’t force a ton of turnovers either. PFF gives him a strong 2022, and average 2023.

So yeah, not really a top 2/3 CB resume.

He makes about as much the 13th highest paid WR. The contract is fine.

He also plays with a subpar pass rush. He is a fantastic player

Just about any single non-QB contract is “fine”, because nowadays one non-QB contract isn’t going to cripple you. Especially if you have a rookie contract QB on the books. Paying a top 10ish CB the most money in NFL history at DB is an overpay, IMO.

Dude’s 24, has all the physical tools, and clearly knows what he’s doing out there. Wouldn’t put it past him to start stringing things together, and I don’t think Denver’s dumb for betting on that upside. NFL isn’t static. But I stand by what I said - if last year is an indication for the rest of his career, then it’s an overpay.
