Clearly not a catch. Facing the field of play, it's just the opposite of facing the boundary and heel down, toes out of bounds.

It's ruled as finishing the step, not a toe tap/drag.

It should not be rules that though. This was a classic toe down TD. Refs are confused because he was facing the opposite side. Nothing in the rule book states his body has to be facing out of bounds.

I believe the rules are (and have been) that if the foot WAS all the way on the ground, of part of the foot would be out of bounds, then it's out. That's why the direction of the foot matters

If any part of the foot hits out of bounds during the normal continuous motion of taking a step (heel-toe or toe-heel), then the foot is out of bounds. A player is inbounds if he drags his foot, or if there is a delay between the heel-toe or toe-heel touching the ground.

Can we talk about Zac Taylor's cowardice for a second?

I'm not saying Joe Burrow is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but let me use them for analogies sake. Could you imagine the Patriots or Colts running the ball three times against a top rush D to settle for a 50+ yard field goal in OT, sitting at 1-3, after they've thrown 30/39, 392 yards and 5 TDs? Never, not in a million years.

ZT isn't going to get fired; the Bengals FO are too set in their stubborn, non-reactive ways. The only way to get through this era is for Joe Burrow himself to take the reigns and overrule poor, conservative decision making. Only then will we start fulfilling this teams potential.
