Note: If a player grasps an opponent’s facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.

When the players head twists around, you have not immediately released it. You have, in fact, controlled your opponent by his facemask.

I know it's your first time seeing a playoff game with the Titans, so you're not used to seeing objectively, but sometimes a team you're a fan of, do commit penalties that are justified.

If you're so obsessed you think the refs are rigging for the Patriots, next year get home field advantage and earn that advantage.

It's strange how more than half of the posters in this thread aren't Titams fans, along with the commenters on national television, yet its only the Pats fans who feel it hasn't been poorly officiated.

Who is the one being objective?

Turning the helmet = controlling the opponent.

It has nothing to do with time, if you grab a facemask and turn the guys helmet, whether you held it for 5 seconds or less than one, that's a penalty. You're impeding his forward progress and also removing his vision from what he's trying to see.

Sorry, I don't buy the idea that the ref was supposed to see what in real time was an insignificant grasp of the facemask. The rule states that if the player grasps and immediately releases then it shouldn't be flagged.

You are, once again, contradicting what the rule actually says along with how the rule is typically enforced.

It's strange how most people go crazy over the Patriots whether it merits it or not and things get blown out of proportion when it involves them

How was this "questionable" when the call was overturned? The refs need indisputable evidence to overturn a call and there certainly wasn't any of that. If the initial call was NZI I wouldn't have a problem with the call standing but that clearly wasn't the case.

There is no indisputable evidence for overturning a penalty call.   If that were the case, refs would never pick up flags thrown which happens multiple times in every game.

THe difference is this is the Patriots so everyone loses their minds over something that happens a thousand times over the course of the season in every single game.

The refs have sucked the life out of this game.

They're supposed to see when a guys head is jerked sideways lol.
