They would've dragged Big Ben down there with them?    Hard to argue with it.

Funny how fate can make or break a player's career.

Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Donovan McNabb, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning... any good QB you can think of drafted in 1999 or later, if they'd gone to the Browns they would've failed.

Wow, that's a frightening segment.  I thought he was going to say that Art Model put a voodoo curse on the city after they sued him for the name, the colors and the records.

Anyone who remembers the names Gary Baxter and LeCharles Bentley believes in a higher power and that the Cleveland Browns' existence is an affront to it.

I'm actually amazed that video made no mention of Bill Belichick, who seems to delight in actively tormenting the Browns, not just by virtue of being the last coach of the original Browns franchise, but by his continued transactional relationship with them.

For those who don't know and are too lazy to use Wikipedia, Baxter and Bentley were the Browns' prize free agent acquisitions in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Baxter missed 11 games in 2005 due to a torn pectoral. Bentley never played a game for the Browns, suffering a torn patellar tendon (on the first play of his first training camp session!) and subsequent staph infection that nearly cost him his leg. Baxter made it 3 games into 2006 before tearing the patellar tendons in BOTH legs!

Patellar tendon ruptures are very rare, even in the NFL. Maybe one or two players a year league-wide suffer such injuries in a particularly bad year. The Browns had it happen to two guys in the same season, and they were both Pro Bowl-caliber players.

The Cleveland Browns live in Hell.

What if TO was never Horse Collared by that POS breaking his leg?

Does it effect any part of the 04 SB?

Does TO stay with the Eagles never having to do Sit ups in his driveway?

Eagles ever go back, Win a SB?

Is TO ever a Cowboy, crying that's my QB?

He had 9 catches for 122 yards in that Super Bowl. If his leg wasn't healed up, he should be retconned into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

How much more could he have realistically produced if he had been at 100%? Honestly.

3-4 more catches, 1-2 breakaway TD? Come on now surely you realize that or remember the game? It was remarkable what he did, but he was not the TO from the first 14 weeks. The explosion wasn't there.

I think the herculean risky performance he put in for SB39 doesn’t go to his head for extra need to be compensated.

mcnabb still gets hurt a bunch the following seasons, Jon Kitna was signed after the 2005 season because they couldn’t go after Jeff with TO and his history. Cowboys sign McCown or Garcia.

Kitna probably still gets them a berth in the playoffs in 2006. And since he was older stays and steps in for McNabb again in 2007. The need maybe isn’t so great for a QB and maybe they don’t draft Kolb in the second. But maybe they do still because McNabb cries that he has to compete with Kitna and he’s not resigned.

TO at some point came to blows with McNabb...McNabb’s fragile ego corrects the timeline and TO is gone after the 2007 season. Where the Cowboys sign him to pair with an upstart Tony Romo who led the Cowboys to almost a playoff berth (instead of making it like they did with TO in real life)

if the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs, probably Gibbs and the Redskins get in. Maybe avoid the Jim Zorn mistake as Gibbs gives it another go the following year.

No rings in on that time period because McNabb still gets hurt all the time. But TOs exit isn’t quite a circus, and it doesn’t kill to culture from those early 2000s teams so quick

What if the late great Jim Johnson doesn’t get cancer at the end of the 2008 season?

It was announced after the season, but I think when you look at the performance of the D in the conference championship game, you could tell something was up.

so under this thinking, the Eagles beat the Cardinals in a game they almost won. And get to their second super bowl of the decade. They would match up well with the Steelers and perhaps get their first super bowl there.

but anyway the next season we don’t have to prematurely elevate then Secondary Coach Sean McDermott to the coordinator position. He stays with the team and is groomed to take over in 2012 when Johnson retires. No baffling decision to make Juan Castillo the def. coordinator by Andy Reid this time.

So back to 2009 the eagles retain Dawkins, the key piece of Johnson’s defense and he retires with Johnson in 2012 as an Eagle. This leads to less gambles and misses on safeties to replace him in all those years. And we probably don’t go so nuts with the dream team stuff in 2011. Choosing better fits for an already established defense. Nandi still comes, and still sucks...but it’s not quite as bad with a competent staff coaching him.

McDermott does a better job with having grown into the roll and not tossed into it. This helps Andy survive past the 2012 season here. Chip Kelly ends up getting his chance elsewhere. After riding with Nick Foles in 2013, Andy’s tired scheme doesn’t get us into the playoffs like Chip did. And Both sides agree it’s time to part ways. Andy signs with the Bills or Niners.

Eagles stick to their typical search and Lurie tries to emulate the Patriots and signs Josh McDaniels as head coach. If he wants to switch to the 3-4 like chip did, we would do a lot of rearranging. Or he could keep the 4-3. But there would be a ton of different players on the defensive side of the ball.

Will say He still trades for Bradford, but the offense looks much different with Desean, Shady and Marlin never being pushed out of town. Bradford struggles but the eagles have to trade a ton more to move up and don’t have the ammo to get Wentz ?

Draft Jacoby Brisett and take the opportunity to unload Bradford, but in a much less confident manor than when they did it with Wentz. Sanchez is still on the team and he starts 3 weeks. Then Jacoby gets his shot has some ups and downs. Ultimately they aren’t sold on him as the QBotF.

So in the off season, now desperate to get his guy and save his job. The Eagles package Desean Jackson and picks in the offseason to the Patriots for Jimmy Garoppolo. Having two first round picks (no Wentz trade, who is now a Dallas Cowboy ?, Niner or Bear) they trade for Brandin Cooks. Who they see as an upgrade over Desean.

finally having a QB to build around the Eagles make the playoffs for the first time in a couple years and while not as bright as it looks with Wentz...are on their way to success.
