What if the league decided to actually nullify Aaron Rodgers' contract with the Packers after the Packers put him back on IR and he's free to sign with any team?  And Aaron decides to test the open market... The chaos!  Even with playoff teams!

I have a hard time believing the Packers wouldn't find a way to bring him back.

Well really, I believe he would be cut, which would lead him to have to hit the waiver wire.

What if the Falcons called running plays instead of passing plays after the big Julio Jones catch in SB51?

Does Devonta Freeman break a run to the end zone for the touchdown?

Do the Falcons move the ball just 2-3 yards and have to settle for a field goal?

Can they hold the 11-15 point lead for the last 2:30 of the game?

LOTS of questions for that situation. Awful situational football calls by Shanahan

John Elway would be standing outside of Rodgers' house, holding a boombox over his head, crying for Rodgers to sign a a contract that would max our Denver's cap...

As far as my "what if"...

What if the Texans drafted Julius Peppers #1 overall instead of David Carr?

Patrick Ramsey would have been the starting QB for the Texans in the 2002 season.

I could live with that if the Texans had a foundation for a defense by the time Gary Kubiak came to town.

Along these lines - what if the Texans drafted Vince Young or Reggie Bush #1 over Mario Williams?

Might as well go for the trifecta - what if the Texans drafted Khalil Mack over Jadevion Clowney in 2014?

My biggest what-if for the Jaguars is “what if Jesse Armstead didn’t go helmet first into Mark Brunell’s knee in a preseason game”

Prior to that, Brunell was a true dual threat QB. He actually led the league in passing and QB rushing the year prior. After the injury, he was never nearly as mobile as he had been. This is probably because he elected to come back and play rather than have the surgery. His career ended with him being viewed as an upper-middle class Steve Young, but could he have been even better had he been able to maintain the mobility he had early on? Would he have been the poster athlete for mobile QBs? How good of a player could he have become?

But it doesn’t stop there. Because Brunell was out for 2 regular season games before coming back, his backup got some playing time. Rob Johnson wowed team(s) in his two starts, and people gushed over him. He set the record for highest completion percentage for a debuting QB. He was the perfect specimen for what a QB was supposed to look like, they said. He was traded to the Bills for a first round pick (#9 overall). Johnson probably doesn’t get “discovered” if that injury doesn’t happen.

But then enter Robo-sack for the Bills. The oft-injured QB fleeced the Bills for a big time contract and became a complete bust.

Not finished yet though. In 1999, the Bills benched Johnson in favor of Doug Flutie. Flutie led the Bills to an 11-5 record, but then was inexplicably benched for Rob Johnson in the playoffs. Johnson would lose the Wild Card game, a game made famous due to the Music City Miracle. If Johnson wasn’t there, does Flutie go in as the starter? Do the Bills win that game? If so, we never get the Kevin Dyson one yard short play either. Maybe the Jaguars win the Super Bowl; they did after all not lose a single game all year to any team other than the Titans. Maybe Peyton Manning gets his first Super Bowl appearance. Or maybe the Bills make a magical run, never bench Flutie again and don’t have an 18 year long drought that they just broke. In 2000, his last season with the Bills - Flutie went 4-1, while Rob Johnson went 4-7. Would that have changed had they trusted Flutie, not having invested in Johnson?

We can keep going though. The pick the Jaguars received from the Bills was used to select Fred Taylor. Had the trade never happened, the most beloved player in Jaguars history probably never suits up for them. But then he likely goes elsewhere. If he goes to another market, with larger success through his career, does he find himself a Hall of Fame lock rather than one of the “should he/shouldn’t he” guys?

What if the Dolphins medical staff didn’t give the red light on Brees and the Dolphins signed him?

Ill say that Saban would’ve still been coaching the Dolphins, never going to Bama. That means Bama wouldn’t have been dominating in the college ranks, which means LSU would’ve been the team to beat in most years in the SEC and played in the National Championship Game/playoffs most years. Payton legacy with the Saints certainly wouldn’t have been what it is now with Brees and who knows if the Saints wouldve won a Superbowl. Maybe Saban would’ve had one in Miami with Brees and the dominance of the Patriots wouldn’t have been what it is knowing Brady wouldn’t have been the best QB by miles in that division. Brees would’ve had something to say about that.

What if Peyton doesn’t get injured? Redskins get Luck? Browns RG3? Redskins probably become perennial playoff team. Luck with Shanahan dominates and he isn’t a pin cushion. Kyle gets HC job a lot sooner. Probably 2014. Detroit had a QB. Maybe he goes there. Without him Atlanta doesn’t go to Super Bowl. Does McVay replace him at OC and get an HC job sooner. Then you circle back to Indy. Caldwell keeps his job. He’s not on Ravens 2012 staff. Do they go with someone like Juan Castillo or stick it out with Cameron? Who do they get at OC in 2013 and where does Kubiak end up in 2014? Do they still win Super Bowl? Do they even make playoffs? Lets say they don’t. Do 49ers win it? Harbaugh probably wouldn’t get fired. Then who coaches Michigan? Peyton doesn’t go to Denver. Do they go with Tebow in 2012? Fox doesn’t get another job. Does Gase ever make a name for himself? Who reps the AFC in Super Bowl against Seahawks? Who in 2015? Do Panthers win that Super Bowl? Where does Pagano go after 2011? Does Arians still get a HC job without Luck?

The only thing I can guarantee you stays the same in this scenario is that Dean Spanos somehow would have still found himself to think Milquetoast Mike McCoy was a bang-up head coach hire.
