Without ranting David Tepper got where he is by being the biggest POS in every room he's ever been in to the point that every other giant POS in every room was just like...."fine... you win!".

Tepper makes Jerry Jones look like Dan Rooney.

Well, the basic issue is that the number of people who can afford to purchase an NFL team at what that's going to cost is very low, and includes a lot of people you do NOT want owning an NFL team (Musk, the Saudis, Russian Oligarchs, etc.)

But a lot of mature companies have like a whole middleman system to protect everybody else from the weird CEO, who is a sociopath but he (it's almost always he) keeps the investors happy, he just shouldn't be exposed to the consumers or the people who do the work.

This is the core issue.  Pretty much anyone who (1) has the means to buy an NFL team and (2) actually wants to are likely to be serious *********

It seems like they've dredged the bottom of the river for people who a) care about football and b) aren't super weird or otherwise unacceptable.  Like most super rich people are going to be asshats, but Shahid Khan and the Wal-Mart kids at least seem like "normal rich asshats."

I guess they might do better trying to convince MacKenzie Scott she needs to own a couple of NFL teams.

If Taylor Swift releases a few more albums, maybe she'll own a team by 2030.

Forget albums if she does a couple more tours she is in owner category. On her current Eras tour she has already grossed over $1.2bn and expected to make over $4bn when the tour ends
