There are TONS of articles coming out right now saying "Giants are bullish on eli, looking at trades for #2" and "Giants think Eli can play several more years", and "Giants looking for the best player at #2"....

Translation...

Giants trying to convince everyone they wont take a QB in hopes the browns feel confident their QB will be there at #4? :-P

Take Darnold #1 and don't look back....

I’ve gone back and forth on this, but in the end I think they take a qb. They’re probably not planning on being in this position for years to come.

You are likely right on, you cannot believe anything that comes out from GM's during the draft process, it is all part of playing the game, to confuse your opponents into believing a falsehood.

Even if the Giants do not want a QB, imagine the assets they would get in a trade for Darnold, from a team desperate for a QB???

Something I heard that actually sounds intriguing though I'm not sure what the return value is.

Arizona is looking to trade up and is looking to part ways with Tyrann Mathieu

What would the feeling be on trading back from #4 to #15 while adding at least Mathieu and a first next year?

Hopefully Darnold (to us) and Rosen (#2) would already be gone, so I like the chances of them wanting Allen or Mayfield and being a high pick next year and having another 1st rounder.

Alos Mathieu can play CB and FS and would be a nice piece to our team.  Again I don't know if this would require more in return to move up so far but certainly worth the question...

Thoughts?

Uchenna Nwosu is insanely underrated. At least in the media and draftnik world because I haven't hear much of a peep about him but man I'm blown away. I just spend the last 90 minutes watching him. He looks to be extremely coachable which is huge when it comes to which prospect succeed and which prospect flame out. You can see his coachability in the little things that he does in situations. He understands angles in the backfield better than most defensive lineman. His spacial awareness is off the charts good. He is never caught off guard or out of position on trick plays because of his discipline. Has great burst and bend to arc the edge. He wins with quickness rushing inside and has uncanny ability to bat balls at the line of scrimmage. He has elite reaction times and quick hands which help with the batted balls but also lead to acrobatic interceptions and coming up with loose balls on the ground. He is a turnover magnet. His spacial awareness make him great in zone coverage as well. Honestly he is one of the most complete 34 OLB prospects I have seen. I know we are no longer a 34 team but I would still love him as our 3rd down specialist to rush the passer and some times chess piece to confuse QBs.

He didn't start playing football until late in HS, so he's still a little raw. He also struggles some at the point of attack, but so do most LB's when a guy 100 pounds bigger than him gets a clean release off of the line on a veer block.

I think that he's physically limited, and he doesn't have great pass rushing moves, but perhaps he'll prove me otherwise.

I think he's a Round 3 or Round 4 guy.

I'd want more. Tyrannn Mathieu is one of my favorite prospects in my entire time following the draft but his entire game is build around suddenness, quickness and explosiveness. Injuries have taken a little of that already and it doesn't get better with age. I know he is only going to be 26 but the injuries worry me and I cannot see him being an effective player at 30 and older maybe even sooner.

If he hasn't been playing football that long it makes his situational and spacial awareness all that more impressive. He has football smarts for only playing a short time. I like that.

Most speed rushers and 34 OLBs struggle at the point and more often than not are not asked to be force players. Two gap DEs are responsible for setting the edge while the OLB creates havoc in the backfield and most.

He needs to get stronger for sure but I feel the same way about literally every pass rusher in this draft except Bradley Chubb. I don't know what these moves are that you are looking for but he uses his hands very well to keep OTs off him and uses that space to dip and bend to the QB. His angles in getting to the QB are far superior to those of Landry, Armstrong, Key and Davenport. Even Ogbonnia Okoronkwo who is lighter and quicker off the edge gets himself up field too far before getting after the QB even though he doesn't need to get up field that far. He already has the OT beat he just doesn't understand to/or how to get flat to the QB and most college pass rushers don't. It comes natural for Uchenna.

I think 75 is his floor and could go as high as mid 50s. There are not a lot of quality pass rushers in this draft that I have seen. I mean if you are taking a guy like Kemoko Turay over Uchenna then you're just a GM throwing up a hail mary and hoping you strike gold.

Also, excited for Terrell Edmunds after watching him yesterday. I think he has legit deep center ball skills and the physicality to come down and play box safety. He would be a nice pair with Peppers to form an interchangeable duo. I think he is underrated as well. He could easily find himself in the top 75 picks as well.

I don’t think he’s underrated. He’s stood out to me evertime I’ve watched USC play. Always seems to get high praise from the announcers.

I want Peterson in a deal with ARZ, but I would take Mathieu and another pick this year or next.

I don't get to watch college football during the season so I don't hear commentators opinions. I'm just going by rankings around the internet. I don't think I have seen him anywhere in the Top 100.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah every time I’ve watched USC this year one of the announcers gushes about him. With good reason, he’s got good instincts and is cat quick.

Can’t lie, I’m just a little bit falling for Ward. I wouldn’t mind a trade down to take him. Or heck just take him at 4. I think he can hold his own against Brown with picksburg.

He’s a bit short, but his feet are legit.  I’m guessing low 4.3 guy too.

His type of athleticism is something we’ve been lacking for a while.
