YEAR   AGE BASE SALARY SIGNING ROSTER WORKOUT CAP HIT DEAD CAP YEARLY CASH
2018 Contract details by year 35 $1,500,000 $1,625,000 $375,000 $100,000 $3,600,000 $3,250,000 $5,225,000($5,225,000)
2019 Contract details by year 36 $3,250,000 $1,625,000 $1,400,000 $100,000 $6,375,000 $1,625,000 $4,750,000($9,975,000)

3.6 mil is fine.  6.3 next year is not.  1.6 mil dead cap is higher than you want in 2019, but it's not a crippling number, more of an annoyance.

It's too much for what I expect Tramon to be, but it was a move out of desperation so you understand it.

It's essentially a 1 year deal with an option.  It's exactly how I thought it'd be.  Unless he plays at a very high level, he won't be back in 2019.

sure, it's essentially a 1 year deal with an option to pay him 6.5 mil or throw away 1.6 million.

Exactly. We’ll only carry about 1.6 million$ in dead cap if/when we cut him next year. Being honest, even if he plays this year like he did last year on Zona, I don’t see him back next year.

We've also got $2.3M in dead cap from Jordy Nelson, $1M from trading Randall, and $4.2M from Martellus Bennett.  That's a rather insignificant number.  Even if the salary cap doesn't increase, that's less than 1% of the salary cap.

I know.  Just think those other moves had much more upside when the deal was signed than this deal does.  Cutting Tramon should be the option we are hoping for, and it's still going to cost us 1.6M.  In those other cases, we intended to keep the player it just didn't totally work out.

That dead money from Marty is a real grind my gears type of thing. He really screwed us.

I mean, look at what Trumaine Johnson's contract is structured.  It's a minimum 3 years, $45M.  They're locked into that contract for 3 years minimum, and it's going to be hard to end it there.

Tru is a player you're excited to have on your team this year and next year and probably for 4 years to come.  He might be overpaid in year 4 or year 3, but he's not really a comparable situation to Tramon.

I don't get committing to a 35 year old anything beyond year 1.  35!!!!!  And he's being paid like a low end No. 2/high end no. 3 corner.

Alternatively, I am excited to pay a top 10 CB in 2017 like a #65 CB.
