CriminalMind
Sadly GB got a really good trade. They could be in position to move up for QB next season, if Jordan Love messes up

We expect the QB class next year to be really good, but what if, because of NIL, several of those QBs decide to stay longer? Then it's not as good of a class as expected. And there's certainly no guarantee that they'll get the right QB.
swede700
This was done because they did not pick up his 5th year option. Edited May 2, 2023 by swede700
SemperFeist
Smart move by the Packers. I can’t say it’s the smart move for Love.

Do you think he should have waited until after this upcoming season? Essentially, betting on himself, that he would have a stellar year and increase his bargaining position? Doesn’t he get paid a lot more now this year and has a bit more security next year? Love could be awful for all we know and get a backup level contract instead of the assumed fifth year option. swede700
It clearly was the sensible way to handle it for both parties. They get their "flexibility" while he gets some security.
