That said, I'm looking at the options at guard and I thinking that the value might be in the skill positions. There's an interior lineman talent cliff and I'm afraid the Redskins are too far back to avoid it.
Eric
Will Hernandez, James Daniel's, and Orlando Brown are top online options left. Guice, Chubb, Jones, K. Johnson are top rb options left. If for some reason Hernandez and Daniels are on the board you almost have to take one, but if you don't land one of these backs now there's a heck of a drop off in talent from here and what you would get in round 4. lavar703
My guess is they use next years third to move up and get Guice.
Woz
I'm worried that the top guys mentioned here (Hernandez, Daniels, Smith, Williams (yes, he's a tackle, but could move inside)) will not be available at 44, so the Redskins will either make the pick for an offensive skill player (I'd point to TE or WR, because there is value there, but like others said, the Redskins don't have a poker face so it's almost likely a RB) or trade back. Both are understandable decisions, albeit a bit papering over earlier mistakes a la Ernie Grunfeld. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000928854/article/2018-nfl-draft-best-players-available Top 10 Offensive Linemen listed 15 G Will Hernandez 22 G (??) Connor Williams (first time I have seen Williams actually officially tracked as a guard) 23 C James Daniels 42 G Tyrell Crosby (that's not a name I had come across previously; anyone know about this kid from Oregon?) 47 T Orlando Brown (not interested) 58 T Brian O'Neill 59 C Martinas Rankin 62 G Austin Corbett 64 G Braden Smith 72 T Joseph Noteboom
Ghostnote
If the Redskins stay put, then I see a few things here. Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Indy are likely to grab a RB. So there goes Guice, RoJo, and Chubb. (Potentially) So, unless we trade up ahead of ONE of them, I find it hard with both Cleveland and Indy having 2 picks in the 2nd to not take 2 of the RB's listed. G - Will Hernandez, James Daniels, Braden Smith, Brian O'Neill CB - Josh Jackson, Isaiah Oliver, Carlton Davis, Donte Jackson, Holton Hill, Kameron Kelly RB - Freeman, K. Johnson WR - Sutton, Chark, Miller, Washington, Burnett, Kirk S - Reid, Harrison, Elliott OLB/EDGE - Landry, Hubbard, Sweat, Thomas, Okoronkwo ILB - None. QB - Mason Rudolph, Kyle Lauletta C - James Daniels (G or C) 33. Cleveland - Landry 34. NY Giants - Daniels 35. Cleveland - Guice 36. Indy - Sutton 37. Indy - Ronald Jones 38. Tampa - Chubb 39. Chicago - Josh Jackson 40. Broncos - Oliver 41. Oakland - Davis 42. Miami - Hubbard or Freeman? Johnson? 43. Patriots - Miller 44. Washington - ? taylor made
I fully expect the team to draft a running back. They'll probably take whoever is left out of Guice/Rojo/Kerryon Johnson. And in that order. One sleeper pick that no one is mentioning is ILB Malik Jefferson, both our ILB are super fragile and he'd be another piece in our woeful run defense.
