Pick #33: Austin Corbett - OL, Nevada

Recommended Posts

Everyone seems so excited about Austin that I thought I'd create a thread!!!!

Deep breaths.  Deep breaths.  It's gonna be OK.

If you consider his position versatility then this pick is a lot easier to swallow. If you look at OL depth we're pretty thin. Nice to have a guy that can step in pretty much anywhere.

FWIW (very little), Mayock had him rated at #39 overall (one slot ahead of Connor Williams).

I'll say it again.  Dorsey is cut from the same cloth as Heckert.  He sticks to his rankings and gets the guys he wants.

They got me with Schwarz and Bitonio

so its now the player I'm worried about

but where tf are they planning on playing him or shifting the O line?

He’s not a flashy pick, but if he’s a quality OL he’s well worth the pick.

Bitonio wasn’t popular at the time we took him. Not sure what the plan is for Corbett. I’m trying to wait at least that long before making judgement.

Lol right?!?

Maybe see if he can play?

Im sure we all spent every Saturday last fall watching Nevada and focusing on OL play, but maybe we missed something.

So I just ran through everything on him on Youtube and my conclusion is that he's solid. Not a road clearer in the run game. Not a pass blocking technician. Just a solid tackle who keeps the guy in front of him away from the play. I'll take it I guess.
