MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Padres are drawing "significant interest" in Kirby Yates.

Yates is set to take over as the Padres' closer following the trade of Brad Hand, but he could find himself as a setup man again on another team. The righty boasts a 2.89 ERA and 135/30 K/BB ratio over 93 1/3 innings for the Padres since last season and is under team control through 2020. If he does wind up getting traded Craig Stammen and/or Phil Maton might be next in line to close for the Padres.

Yates caught my eye right before the break when the Cubs played the Pads.  He would be a solid get for any team.

Is there a reason why the Marlins aren’t starting a bidding war for Realmuto?  They have the worst run differential in the NL and he’s gone in 2.5 years.  Might as well stock up on young arms...

heard the nats are talking about going after him and including a package around Robles for him( think Heyman Reported it)

Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak conceded Thursday that the team could look to trade Jose Martinez to an American League club "at some point."

Interim manager Mike Shildt has had Martinez on the bench in both of his lineups so far, as he's preferred to go with the better defensive alignment with Matt Carpenter at first base and Jedd Gyorko at third. Martinez is sporting a nifty .299/.365/.478 batting line with 13 home runs and 56 RBI this season, but his defensive shortcomings make him a better fit as a designated hitter. He'll turn 30 next week but still won't be arbitration-eligible this winter, so there should be plenty of interest. Martinez's fantasy outlook appears cloudy should he remain in St. Louis.

you guys can have ender back and we'll take pollock off your hands for you.

I’m a big Ender honk but he’s getting worse by the year.  He’s easily worth his contract for defense alone though.
