VikeManDan
It all depends on Trubisky.
SteelKing728
I don't know that Nagy will be McVay 2.0 or anything like that, but he's a good hire. The only better moves to be made would be Fangio or Shurmur at HC. The Bears are gonna be good sooner than later.
swede700
I bet Pace weighed heavily on Andy Reid's endorsement of Nagy, considering Pace is an Eastern Illinois guy just like Reid's right-hand man, Chilly.
SemperFeist
Keeping Fangio makes even more sense for the Bears because while Nagy was given playcalling duties from Ried, Ried still was the one responsible for putting together the offensive game plans, and other aspects that will be new territory for Nagy. Having a defensive coordinator that can literally run the defense, and who you won’t have to worry about, will make the transition that much simpler for Nagy. Similar to Zimmer hiring Turner as his OC, and what McVay did by hiring Wade Philips. Edited January 8, 2018 by SemperFeist
JDBrocks
This screams ownership meddling to me. They didn’t trust Pace to make a decision, so Phillips and McCaskey were in the interviews. They got a guy that was going to jump at an opportunity, despite not having a ton of control. not saying Nagy will be bad, only that if he is, it will be in spite of the ownership structure. Where are you getting that? Where’s that been reported? Nagy has been a hot candidate for HC for a couple years now.
JDBrocks
Local radio is CRUSHING the Bears org on a daily basis. They were on the fence about firing or extending Pace, and only extended him to try to line his contract up with the next head coach, and that this decision was not made by Pace on his own. gopherwrestler
OC is hired. I wonder if he will continue his face paced offense in the NFL. Learned under Chip Kelly since 09 and never really changed that offense much.
SteelKing728
so they plan on running a spread, college like offense? KC did that earlier this season and they started off very hot, but then cooled down significantly after that. I think the biggest winners out of this might be Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen.
