Haven’t thought about that game until you brought it up. I was obsessed with it. Good times.

True. One study showed that 10% of UK participants actually donated.

However - typically in a year, the ALS Association brings in less than $20M in donations. In one month, they brought in over $100M thanks to the challenge. The NIH budget for ALS is only $40M, so the $100M is pretty substantial.

Using the money for research, UMMS was able to identify a third gene that is a cause for ALS.

I mean that seems like a good thing to me...

has there been another "challenge" that even had positive impact as it's motor though? i just don't like when people have to have a platform to do decent human things like be generous w/ extra money they got or just help someone out. beyond that.. like you're saying 90% of the people doing it because they wanna participate in whatever the **** to feel included. im not saying anything that's not mad obvious, i don't know why it doesn't irk more people. maybe other people are more well-adjusted individuals that just don't give af what other people are doing lol. I try to ignore all of that kinda stuff, but when i see like challenges or music festivals or just dumb **** like that it's like dude just chill out, you know? i dunno. im legit having like a level 8 anxiety attack right now and barely know what im typing

Got up at 7am MDT. Got on a plane at 1:30pm got back to the hotel room at 11:30pm. Ate dinner at 12:15am. Crawled into bed at 12:50am. Set the alarm for 5am. It’s not even officially Day 1 of SDCC, just Preview Night,  and this is supposed to be the easy part.
