FinSting
Bob Griese, the Thinking Man's Quarterback, was *such* a baller. Yet in glasses he had that mild-mannered look so you wouldn't think he was such an incredible sports assassin. At Purdue he was 12-1 as a baseball pitcher on year, played Guard for the basketball team with such awesome smothering defense that eventual NBA All-Star Cazzie Russell said of all the college dudes he faced Griese played the best defense, and Heisman runner-up as QB but WAIT THERE'S MORE...he was also Purdue's punter and place-kicker. When I was in 4th grade after an eye test I got the horrible news it was time for (shudder) glasses. In the optometrist office was a big standing cardboard cutout of Griese wearing glasses inside his Dolphins helmet so I was like 'hey maybe specs ain't so bad after all.' Thanks, Bob. Sorry you were puking your guts out with stomach flu last night, now get out there and let Mean Joe Greene eat.
TecmoSuperJoe
Muncie really could have had an all-time great career if he just stayed on the right path. It's a shame he got caught up in all of these pitfalls.

TecmoSuperJoe
NFL Throwback Originals: Jordy Nelson Even though he was a Packer, he was a marvel to watch play. It's remarkable he was able to come into the NFL as a receiver with such little receiving experience, yet became one of the most acrobatic receivers to play in the league. y*so*blu
Long before the Fake Spike Game crushed their spirit, Pete Carroll's Jets looked like a team on the rise. Mo Lewis sets the tone with an explosive pick-six of John Elway, and when the game goes to overtime (because, come on, it's John Elway) Gang Green finishes what they started.
TecmoSuperJoe
2004 Week 12 Indianapolis Colts (7-2) at Detroit Lions (4-6) Thursday Nov 25, 2004 Start Time: 12:38pm Stadium: Ford Field Attendance: 63,107 Time of Game: 3:14 I forgot how bad this Lions team was. Man there really was nothing to get excited about looking back. Manning had one of his best games dominating a squad that looked like an expansion franchise. 6 touchdowns was remarkable, and in my opinion that was his greatest season. TecmoSuperJoe
1994 Week 1 Dallas Cowboys (0-0) at Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0) Sunday Sep 4, 1994 Start Time: 4:00pm Stadium: Three Rivers Stadium The Cowboys and Steelers headlined a top interconference matchup to help kick off the NFL's 75th anniversary season. For the second year in a row the Steelers started against an NFC powerhouse at home, and for the second year in a row they got knocked in the mouth. The previous year the 49ers beat the Steelers 24-13, and this year the Cowboys beat the Steelers 26-9. Head coach Bill Cowher built some great Steeler squads in that decade, but the QB position in addition to the dominance of the NFC were a huge obstacle to overcome. The triplets for Dallas had their way against the Steelers defense for the most part, and the Cowboys own defense showed no mercy against Neil O'Donnell, and the rest of the offense. There were some awesome plays in this game, plus some funny moments that were just of the time the game was played. Always nice to see a game at Three Rivers Stadium. TecmoSuperJoe
1990 Week 1 San Francisco 49ers (0-0) at New Orleans Saints (0-0) Monday Sep 10, 1990 Start Time: 9:00pm Stadium: Louisiana Superdome First Monday Night Football game of the 1990s, and it didn't disappoint. 49ers take on their divisional rival the Saints in New Orleans in a hard fought game. Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott, the two cornerstone stalwarts for the 49ers orchestrate clutch performances each with the game in the balance during the 4th.
