Honestly he’s a player I think we could franchise down the road and draft his replacement While I don't really blame Doesey, as no one could have seen this new safety market coming(?), I think it all but sets up what you're talking about, a franchise tag next year & then either trading him or expecting him to walk the year after for a compensatory pick. I think it'll take 4/$50 to get it done now, which I'm hoping we don't do. There are some solid SS in this draft that should be there in round 3. I wonder if they are all trying to do 1-year deals, which I'd rather avoid unless it's very cheap and the idea is to get a compensatory next year. Otherwise, it's just one more guy whose contract is up and needs re-signing in a year.
