In fairness, that pass wasn't particularly impressive. It was underthrown and almost resulted in Davis' defender catching up with him and tackling him. IF he doesn't shake that tackle, it's not a touchdown, and there was absolutely no reason it shouldn't have been if Mariota hits him somewhat in stride. Davis would have walked into the endzone if that were the case unless you think Hal was turning on the jets and catching up from the safety spot if it were thrown further downfield. He wasn't catching up if that throw leads davis in my opinion. If you want to think that, that's fine - that's why I put that caveat in the original post. EVERYTHING was in front of the sticks. Where is the misdirection, the jet motions? Where is the scheming guys open you see with the new breed of play caller?
