Rockice_8
Brian Poole visiting. My quick take on him. Meh
Rockice_8
A slot CB who struggles in coverage? I guess they want him for his ability to blitz and tackle because he is very good at that.
BlaZeN37
Schefty said Sitton to the Jets is likely. I’m all for it.

I'm not against it, especially with the odds of us having to draft an OG and give him time to develop.

jetskid007
Random thought with Josh Sitton likely signing with us: can we consider Winters at C? Sitton is 32 and a stopgap, but other than tearing his rotator cuff in week 1, he's stayed fairly healthy throughout his career. He can slide into RG and, if healthy, could play at a similar level that Winters had to offer. No why Winters as a C? He got reps there as the backup in 2015 and has the power and athleticism to do it. We're seeing "Gs" play center more and more (I'm reminded by former Jet Matt Slauson, who was effective at both G and C in his career), and it can kill 2 birds with one stone. Who says no?

Man I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard the Sitton news. Winters played left and right tackle in college. The first time he played guard was at the senior bowl. He apparently took well to the transition and obviously has adjusted as a pro. So he has experience at both tackle spots and both guards spots. Didn’t realize he was a backup center. Shows his versatility. I wouldn’t hate it. My only concern is that we saw how important the Center position was. Do we want to take such a flier? KingOfNewYork
Have we made anything official yet? I have only seen the Crowder deal as official.

Do we want to take such a flier? That's why I feel like the best move would be to sign guys like Swanson and Wiz so we have a true open competition for both positions. It's not like any of these guys will require long-term contracts with much guaranteed money - they would have to earn their spots.

Great to know. I feel like he or Winters would be the best bet, but Sitton even better because he's seen a lot more and is likely better at identifying alignments (no offense to Winters). Again, he got injured last year but has been playing at a high level literally every year of his career and has stayed relatively healthy. By no means would I be upset with this experiment.
