We found Myers on the scrap heap this year, it isn't like we drafted him early or had to sign him while other teams were trying to sign him too. We can find another guy, honestly I thought Martin looked just as good if not better in the preseason and he is working at a taco bell right now. As far as kick returns it is becoming more and more rare of a part of the game. With the new rules most kickers just blast it out of the back of the end zone. Roberts did a pretty good job especially towards the end of the season, but he also returned 40 kick offs, which was tied for the most in the league. Most guys only got a chance to return around 20-25 kicks. That means the dude is only useful like around 1 and a half times per game. We will miss him a bit on punt returns, but the variant between him and the average punt returner is about 4 yards per punt return.... that isn't really that big of a difference in field position. Lastly this year was a complete outlier for Roberts even as a returner. The rest of his career as a returner was way way worse. It could be argued that his success was more due to the blocking and scheme than him suddenly becoming amazing at 30 years old. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
