The structure is very team friendly. And cap hell 7 8 years from now isnt a big deal if you got nultiple mvps and superbowls before it happens. Tv deals get reworked in 2023 i believe. The cap is gonna sky rocket. We looking at a 235 - 245 million dollar cap coming in the next 5 years. Mahommes contract will be looked at as a fair deal than. He's a great QB but KC also has the most talent in the NFL. Let see how he does with scrubs at the 2 and 3 WRs , bad defense or both. So they may lose him. But hardman a rookie and watkins 52 catch season wont be super hard to replace next year. I mean hunter renfrow had pretty much same numbers as watkins. Andy reid, mahommes, and hill with a decent oline. The rest can be fillers. Draft picks and guys on 1 year prove it deals. They will be fine. And as far as the defense goes. That arent all that talented in 1st place. Honey badger frank clark and chris jones is about it. You dont have to have a top 10 defense when you always playing with a lead. How many times has that highest paid qb been best in league in their prime? Peyton (not prime) was highest paid in denver. They didnt win it his first year there. Next year sombody got paid higher than him and they won. See how flawed that fact/stat is. Jimmy g was highest paid 2 years ago. He got hurt, following year somebody gets paid higher than him and he was in the superbowl. Carr was the highest paid QB in the league when we signed him to his extension in 2016 and he'll be like the 16/17th highest paid QB in the league in 2021. And even with that considered when he starts making $40M+ in 2023 the salary cap should be significantly higher because the NFL's TV deal will likely increase from $3B to $6B annually.
