That's what went wrong last time.

NCOUGHMAN
Interesting how they (2 nfl dbs) say how defenders after the game don’t count the points their offense gives up….

LOL why is that interesting? Of course a defense isnt going to count that as points against them
NYRaider
Nose tackle seems to be our biggest hole at the moment.

Rolni
According to PFF: Butler played 4 year with Carolina in a 4-3 D. RDT and LDT in 2016 for the hole year. LDT and mostly NT in 2017. LDT and some LE in 2018. LDT and LE around equally in 2019. He wasn't a starter for most of these games, but he played NT a good amount and especially if you think about the LDT being the strong side DT in a nickel package, where is is still the run focus DT. Billings played 3 year in the Bengals 4-3 and then some snaps in 2021 with the 4-3 Browns. In 2017 he played at LDT, RDT and NT. In 2018 he started at NT all year with 1 game as RDT and 1 game as LDT starter. In 2019 he started 8 games as NT, 2 as RDT and 4 as LDT. So he has a storng starting NT back ground, but obviously 2020 and 2021 is out of the window, so he is a questionmark. Peko played only NT in 2016 and 2017. Then some LDT and RDT in 2019. In 2021 he played NT, RE, LE and LDT, RDT with the Titans, whose base is 3-4 I believe. Definatley not a guy with lots of starts in the NFL, but has experience and most of it is at NT. Nichols played 4 years for the Bears in a 3-4. In 2018 he played LDT, RDT, NT and RE with 6 starts. In 2019 he played DRT, LE, DLT and also RE with 12 starts. In 2020 he started for the hole year mostly at RDT, but had 1 game as LDT. In 2021 he was RDT or RE and started for the most part of the year. He clearly has the most starting experience and while he is clearly not a NT, even he has some experience there. Vickers has only LDT and RDT experience. If we assume our base will be a 4-3 we are in solid situation. Nichols is the 3T with Vickers as his back up. Butler or Billings is the NT with Peko still in as depth. Since Butler can play some 3T and Ferrell can play some 3T in nickel we could be set. I hope not, since I think this would be a big risk... If the base is a 3-4, then we are in bigger trouble IMO. Nichols can be the RE with Ferrell behind him. Butler would need to be the LE with Vickers behind him. Billings would be the NT with Peko behind him. This line would terrify me personally...
