Jroc04
I haven't gotten into the new discussion. Or is it old at this point? I just noticed bail. You get arrested, you post bail so you don't have to sit and await your trial. Your bail is returned once your trial or court proceedings are complete. Bail is a way to forgo sitting in jail and also a way the courts make sure you show up to court. I did something. I posted bail because the issue wasn't going to be resolved for like 16 months. And I wasn't going to sit in jail for something I could plea down or even get dropped completely. If you can afford bail, you always post it. The average joe that knows the story thinks he is fighting the DV charge. I'd lump us in as average folks. I don't think people are that stupid. And if they are that stupid, they aren't waiting for a federal court to allow their stupidity. If the average joe is that dumb, as you say, they've already made up their minds. I'm just looking at this from all angles. If I were Zeke, I'd understand that the NFL is most likely, and nearly inevitably going to win, take the suspension, and put out a public statement saying that "Mr. Elliot backing down is not an admission of his guilt, he's actually innocent but the NFL are tyrants.... blah blah blah." Also, Jerruh, Bob McNair and Robert Kraft depositioned to turn over cell phone and email records regarding Kaepernicks allegations of collusion. Does Kraft go Tom Terrific on his stuff and smash everything?

I think that: NFLPA: Wants Zeke to be a martyr because its obvious to anyone with a brain the NFL royally screwed up the handling of this case. For them, its a negotiation tactic. They get to clown the league - and even though they will likely lose - the world knows how bad the NFL screwed the pooch. Zeke: Gets his side of the story out there. It gets repeated to the masses who may have only heard the initial story. He gets sympathy for the disgrace that was the NFL investigation. He gets an opportunity, no matter how unlikely, to win this at the court level. He is able to delay his suspension and work on his craft. There is absolutely no doubt that the longer this has gone on, the more facts revealed, the better Zeke has looked in comparison to the NFL. If you dont believe me, go look at social media or reddit. Probably close to 85% of the comments are all pro-Zeke/bashing the NFL. Reddit especially, were even the NFC E rivals call this thing BS. Yeah, because Kaepernick filed suit, they have to turn over those things as part of discovery. Doesn't mean they'll find anything. Likely those have already been deleted long ago.

But this is different because if you don't post bail you potentially could spend more time in jail. If Zeke didn't appeal he would be suspended for 6 weeks, it is not like his time in "jail"(in this analogy) would actually be any longer. He is still going to be suspended and potentially at a even more crucial time.

So again, who are the people out there who thinks a labor dispute is a criminal adjudication of guilt lol. Most people understand he was never charged. If Zeke won it would be blasted on every major news/sports/social media: "Zeke beats NFL in federal court after sham investigation" It would be a new narrative. Thats what would change the mind of the masses. You know this man.

Which is why I moved on. Most humans dont operate that way. Most of us would want to fight as hard as we possibly could to prove our innocence and clear ourselves of any charges. I think Jonu's thought process is: "youre going to lose, so just bend over now" Which I think we can all agree is horsepoop if Zeke is in fact innocent. It's not "horsepoop" as this isn't a criminal case; his liberty is not a stake. This is to decide whether he can work or not. And based on the way these things have played out before, broad powers given to the Commissioner by the CBA, the year long investigation, etc., he will have to follow through with the suspension FROM WORK at some point. In the meantime, the longer this drags out, it's bad press for everyone involved and a distraction to him and his teammates. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp? But, INNOCENT doe...
