Slateman
I don't trust Rainey either. Again, Martinez has no choice. He has one reliever he can trust. One. Frankly, I don't see how anyone can indict Martinez after what the team has done this season. A plethora of injuries and 12 games under .500. Within a month, he had them back at .500 ball. This pen is historically bad. It's the worst in the majors. That isn't because of Martinez's management. That's simply the talent woefully underperforming. If Ned Yost can win a WS, than a halfway decent bullpen can get Martinez and the Nats into the playoffs. If we swapped bullpens with the Royals, Diamondbacks, or White Sox, this team has a 4+ game in the WC and is within 4 games of the division. MikeT14
We will agree to disagree then on Davey. He's not the dude to put them over the hump. Would love to eat my words. I won't have to though.
Jeezy Fanatic
I'm in wait and see mode. Early in the year I was team "Fire Davey to provide a spark", but we got that spark now anyways, so let's see where he can run with it.

MikeT14
It truly is amazing that no matter who trots out there in relief, they're very likely to blow it. It just seems mathematically improbable. How much could be mental now?

Jeezy Fanatic
As of today, we’re tied for a wild card spot. Also, nothing like an 11AM game as an excuse to crack the first beer of the day.
