If some want to ignore everything around them to ‘confirm’ what they want to believe ( something that a certain people are doing at the highest levels) go ahead, be willfully ignorant .

Admit Rodgers and the offense played like crap in that game you unapologetic Rodgers stan.

You know, thinking about it more, I would say the willfully ignorant are the dumbest type of people out there.

Congratulations on the impeccable self-diagnosis.

At this rate of progress we might even get you to stop seeing Aaron Rodgers in the ink blots at the psychologist's office.

You can't do it. Amazing

Nobody can say truthfully that AR is the same player he once was.  Nobody beats Father Time.  But right now unless we make a trade or let him walk and roll with god knows who Rodgers is our starter.  So instead of grousing about his decline perhaps a more constructive discussion should be what do we do now to help him out at this point in his career.

There's not a damn thing I can do to help Rodgers.

Rodgers is a big part of the problem. It's only Quarterbacks that we act like we have some whacked out sense of loyalty to and we have to spare their feelings. Dude was trash.

Ok, he's trash.  Fine.  But then what in the hell do we do about this position?

So who are we dealing Rodgers to?  Who we bringing in to replace him that could have stunned the Niners?  What do you got?  We just dead in the water?

Pretty much, barring another extremely unlikely FA class of a similar quality as last year's, a strong draft, and excellent development of people on the roster. Plus probably strong schematic alterations from the coaching staff.

Rodgers haters want to conveniently ignore pretty much everything.

Expecting him to put up 40 with limited drives because the opposing team is running the ball for over 6 ypc on 40 plus runs .

F***, I’ll go back further. It was Rodgers’ fault against Sea he couldn’t put up 30 against one of the best defenses in the modern era , who had one of the best home fields in the modern era.
Ya, his fault Bostick couldn’t catch the d*** ball.

His fault they couldn’t punch it in twice on the goal line and chose both times to kick it .

His fault that HHCD couldn’t get that 2PC

His fault they lost the toss and didn’t have a chance .

His fault that he couldn’t get 24 against the 3rd ranked defense.  His fault Hyde can’t come down with an easy INT right to him. Or when gimpy Andy Matumblo ( whatever his last name) is chasing after Kaep

Or the year before that !

When Kaep ran for 200 yards against us! And Gore adding another 120! All Rodgers’ fault. Running the ball certainly doesn’t eat up the clock ... limit possessions... It’s only natural to think Rodgers should put up 40 plus against the second ranked defense .

Btw, all of these games , on the road!

Let’s ignore all of that.

People want someone to blame. Its the same everywhere, every country, every sport. If you care about your team and you lose then you have to blame someone. Its either the ref or you have been cheated or its a scapegoat on your own team. Its so much easier than just admitting your team wasn't as good as they were.

  • Rodgers wasn't very good
  • The offensive line got dominated
  • The run defence was useless
  • The pass defence wasn't great
  • Our punter shanked one
  • Our returner fumbled one

We were just bad. Full stop. If anything Rodgers was one of the more effective players - he led three touchdown drives. Too little too late but at least he did something. More than you can say for most of the team.

Rodgers is a top 10 QB at this point. No more, no less. For his salary then you expect more but that's the way it is. Unless you hit on draft pick, you don't get cheap QBs. Packers have been spoilt by superstar QBs but the reality is for a lot of the time, you have to try and win with good QBs as there is only a few teams with top 3 QBs in the league at any one time.  Nobody knows how we will do post Rodgers, we could hit three in a row and get the next Mahones but its more likely we don't.

The one positive is we can end the nonsense about not needing any skill players as we have Rodgers. Rodgers is still a very good QB but he isn't able to do it without help anymore.

Yup, we're just dead in the water being a Super Bowl contender for the next 3-4 years. Bummer. There's some people here you just need to understand that will find the negatives in literally everything.

We didn't just lose to the 49ers to go 7-9 in week 17. We lost to them in the NFCCG. Everything with this team is trending where it needs to. Enjoy the off-season, watch Gutey attack it and hope we stay similarly healthy next year.
