Leader
34 minutes ago, CWood21 said: As much as I could continue to dump on Mookie, here's my thoughts on the trade. It's a risky trade for both sides with plenty of upside for both. For the Lakers, they're tying the franchises' future to Anthony Davis. And there's risk involved with that like anyone else. But the Lakers needed a legitimate co-star for LeBron James, and they got one of the best one available. And now, they're a premier FA destination if they weren't already. This absolutely opens up the door for that 3rd star to join the Lakers (think Kyrie or Kawhi). If they are able to land that 3rd star, those picks are borderline worthless. For New Orleans, they're taking on a TON of risk from Ingram's health to the picks that far in the future. Personally, I would have preferred the Pelicans taken on more "known" value, but it was going to be hard pressed to get more from anyone else. They got the most they were going to get for Anthony Davis, so kudos to David Griffin. 100% correct.

Danger
Maybe Kyrie is rethinking things with KD's injury and the trade.
11sanchez11
A clarification on the haul of draft picks heading the Pelicans' way. The 2021 pick goes to New Orleans if it's in the top eight, if not they'll get an unprotected first in 2022. Swap in 2023. Unprotected first in 2024, with a right to defer to 2025. https://mobile.twitter.com/taniaganguli/status/1140123632103903233 So three picks for sure. And swap rights in '23. I think it went from 95% chance that Kyrie signs with Brooklyn to ~65% chance he signs with Brooklyn. I'd still put the Nets as the odds on favorites, but the Lakers made up a TON of that gap. Also laughing at Lakers outbidding themselves 10 fold. It’s a great day for me tbh.

I'm not sure if DLo is enough to entice Kyrie on his own, even in that market.

A hobbled Kevin Durant isn't going to make or break Kyrie IMO. He's going to Brooklyn or he's going to the Lakers. If it's about winning, he'll end up in a Lakers' uniform. If he wants to go home, he's going to Brooklyn.

Reverse protected in 2021 (likely to keep it), so the Lakers still have their 1st the next 2 years. And not swap rights, but their choice of either a 2024 or 2025 1st? They can take the 2024 1st or if it's really low they can wait a year and take it in 2025? Crazy haha. If it's a mid-1st in 2024 then what a decision.
