I get wanting to get the most value for him, but I mostly just want to see a roster that is capable of winning it all. I dont just want a 3 and D wing, but a guy who can guard Bron, Kahwi, PG, Luka, and Zion for the forseable future

I agree, which is why I'd love someone like McDaniels. If there wasn't already a potential PG of the future in Orlando then I'd love to look at someone like Jonathan Issac. I just think DLo has shown how good he can be and it's pretty enticing and I don't think that should be parted with for banality. Gotta be a bonafide player coming back.

Im not that educated on the how everything balances out, but if Iggy's 17m trade exception was a part of this wouldnt it work?

Or find another team to participate. Idono i havent thought it through that much

You can't combine trade exceptions with anything else in a trade.

Outside of making the salaries match it's a fairly realistic deal. Russell is more valuable but not by a huge amount. An extra expiring and first would do it.

Russell certainly has a lot more value than Covington.

holy **** why does the youth keep getting worse at basketball

This is just a terrible year overall because the 2019 recruiting cycle sucked so bad. The 2021 draft should be a lot better with guys like Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, and Evan Mobley. And there's still the potential for Jonathan Kuminga to reclassify and he'll likely be the #1 pick. I'd take any of those 4 players over any prospect in the 2020 class by a wide margin.

An ESPN article published today stated that almost no NBA teams went to scout LaMelo in person this season before he went down with a season ending foot injury. And that teams are considered with his durability, his erractic work ethic, potential distractions generated by LaVar, and his glaring inconsistency with perimeter shooting, defense, and general half court scoring prowess.

is this gonna be like a 2013 draft?

I think it's probably worse than 2013. Little better at the top but there's no shot you're getting equal to Victor Oladipo, CJ McCollum, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert out of this draft.

Not nearly as bad at the time though considering the bolded were overlooked. Could it end up worse in the long run? Obviously we'll have to wait and see, odds are yes since it takes a lot to beat a class that had an all time great hiding in it, but in July this class, as bad as it looks, will still look a lot better than 2013s IMO. Wiseman a better big than anything in 2013. Edwards a better wing than anything 2013 had to offer (at draft time), after that it gets pretty equally muddy.
