Curious about the return, but what a great reclamation signing that ended up being.

Sounds like Jaylin Davis. Seems light, but he is hitting well in AAA

Okay, three players total for Dyson.

Kae-Wei Teng, Jaylin Davis, Prelander Berroa

Waiting for @devils1854 to break this down for me

Winkler is kinda meh. Might be good for stretches, and will be bad for stretches. He was pretty good for Atlanta in 2018 but was lost during his time in the majors this year.

Beck has talent. Freshman AA at Stanford. Would have been a first round pick. Injured sophomore year, and some of junior year. Braves took him in the 4th rd. Injuries hit him again this season. Has only pitched like 30 innings in A+ ball. He could be a steal and a mid rotation guy in the future, or he might be out of baseball in a year because of injuries.

Honestly, probably a fair deal since the Braves are paying all of Melancon’s salary.

Would have rather paid all the salary and gotten some better prospects, but that is fantastic we were able to dump that contract

We already have the highest total salaries on the books for like the next 2 or 3 years in the majors. We really needed to shed some salary to open us up to potential additions down the line. There may be a player we acquire this off season (trade / free agency) that we may not have been able to had we still had Melancon on the books.

I had some faith in Avila, not sure why but these moves blow my mind. What awful return for both Greene and Castellanos. We are a system in need of position players and he trades for 3 pitchers and a 25 year old meh 2B when our best position player prospects are middle infield prospects?  What a sad way to end that deadline.

Youll like Wentz. Ive loved him since we drafted him. He hasnt quite blossomed into the dominant lefty that his frame shows he could be, and injuries have hampered him a bit, but if he gets it together, he has mid-rotation starter(if not more) all over him.

Had a 30+ inning streak of not allowing a run last year in A+, and he just had 30 days in June/July where he K'd 40 in 32 innings and was unhittable at times. He did just follow that up with a stinker.

He's still a bit of a project, and the walks need to come down, but I still have him as a top 100 guy.

He is a decent prospect but we just need bats.  We have 3 pitchers in top 100 lists, 5 of our top 6 minors players are arms and we just added three more to the mix.  We also have Fulmer who will be healthy in a year and Boyd who likely wont get traded if he didn't have the value this year with 3 years of control left.  It just stinks having a few arms really close to being MLB ready (within a year to 1.5 years) and no impact bats other than riley Greene who is 3ish years away likely.  We have some decent MI's but nothing to get too excited about offensively.

Demeritte isnt a huge prospect, but he has always had intrigue, and he has really broken out in AAA this year. Is the the new ball? Probably, but he should get a chance at starting for Detroit. LF or even 2nd.
